Rc10 Tires And Tamiya

Recommended Posts

I remember Holiday buggy tires were the hot set-up for original RC10 rears back in the day. I half believe some sort of adapter was included in some of those early kits to allow mounting Holiday Buggy tires.

I run RC10T rims/tires on the back of my Grasshopper. They work fine as long as you tighten them up.

Holiday Buggy rears mount directly on the original RC10 jellybean tires with some minor trimming of the inner bead. Jay Halsey ran them on one of his RC10 bitd. Here's a picture of one of the prototypes with Holiday Buggy tires as well: http://aedownloads.com/pdf/originalrc10.pdf

Associated also made plastic inserts to put in Tamiya front tires so you could run the stock AE imperial flanged bearings. CRP (and others) upped that buy selling direct-fit front axles for the RC10 that were 5mm, allowing direct use of Tamiya front wheels.

Just FYI, you could be sitting on a goldmine. Many RC10 enthusiasts are very particular about the tires. Guys trying to recreate box-art cars love original tires.
