I know what you mean i prefer the transparent ones. When i raced cars at my local club i used the coloured ones. But when i run my shells that are in good condition i like to use the transparent ones as they are harder to notice and make to car look more scale.

I also hate it when they are bent i have to straighten them up evey once in a while.

Get 2.4ghz radio gear - the receivers only have short aerial wires - one £1.50 aerial tube will probbably do 6-10 cars :D

I may regret asking this but....how short is short? B)

I've started using Spektrums... NO MORE aerials :D

I'm used to 27mhz so what do I need with the spektrum setup? I mean I'm used to buying everything in one box so is it the same with the spektrum or is it more mix, match and hope?

I can understand why the bright coloured ariels exsist, for racing to stand out etc but I would prefere clear or none at all! B)

I bought a complete set: DX3S 3-Channel DSM Surface Radio with Telemetry Around USD 250 on the bay. Worth every cent as you can monitor the motortemp.

And I'm guessing this is costly too! B)

I use the Tower Hobbies (made by Tactic) 2.4 controller and it's receivers use no antenna at all. Best of all, it's only about $75 US.

Well being in the UK I've looked around and the acoms 2.4ghz is anywhere from £39 to £49 so I guess thats not too bad.... Still more than the £22 I get my 27mhz for though! B)

There are reasons for the difference in price tag. I was a bit hesitant about buying such an expensive radio system (I have the Futaba 3PM 2.4Ghz), but they are really worth the money. They have a higher quality feel to them than the cheap-o radios, they have very nice adjustability features that you think you don't need, but are much more important than you first thought and you'll use them pretty often, the buttons for the trim etc are in the right places, the 2.4Ghz technology for me has proven 100% glitch-free (whereas I have had problems with 27Mhz and 40Mhz controllers, even though I don't really know what could cause the interference) and the receivers as mentioned before have a nice aerial - not to forget the small size of the receivers either, whereas the cheap-o radios usually come with big receivers. :D

I did consider the Acoms, but I'm happy I didn't buy it. It's 2.4Ghz, but I heard it's shape and size doesn't fit nearly every user, the interface is odd and the manual is unclear, there is play on the wheel of the transmitter and it feels very plactic-fantastic. It really makes sense to buy a more costly transmitter imo

Ah well as I prefere the stick type transmitter then I think the acoms would be fine for me. :D

Never ever had ANY interference problems with the 27mhz since I started using them as a kid in 84! So the only thing I`d be switching to 2.4ghz for would be lack of ariel! B)

after buying many non-T brands straws... prefer T's as they're always the right girth. Some of the others are too fat to fit in the hole.

only the coloured straws are sold as hopup options

the kit straws are a SparePart that your LHS can order in; usually SP SKUs aren't often displayed on retail shelves

different part # for clear or black, check your kit manual rear

How can they put one straw in each bag? The bag must be close to the price of the straw! Silly!

Hmmm...black ones for about 5-7 SEK, my LHS wanted something like 30-40 SEK for one, 90 SEK for 4 or 5...(10 SEK ~ 1-1,5 GBP)

I've heard alot of good about the HobbyKing 2,4 GHz system, it's 23 dollars and extremly spartan but it does work really well... http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/u...Ch_Tx_&_Rx_

Also the reciver is small and it's 3 channels (the third channel is good for plugging in LED's, I've noticed)

And an extra reciver is under 7 dollars!!!
