Hi Chaps,

I need some advice on what ESC to use with the Acto-Power pink motor? I've heard the TEU-104BK wont be able to cope with it.

Thanks

Ben

The Pink Acto is a 14 turn motor, so you'll need an ESC that can handle that - a quick look at the specs for the TEU-104BK suggests it will only handle 25 turns...

Just bought a mtronics rv 11 off the bay, hopefully that will do.

You will need at least 160amps of continuous current rating. I run one with a CPR P160-f in my Dyna Storm, and it gets quite hot, but never overheats...

That'll do a treat. :)

What are you putting it in?

It will be going in my Madcap (once i've sorted out my diff/gearbox problems)

I've got one of these motors and was wondering if it's too much for a Monster Beetle? I'd also be using an Mtroniks RV11 (got one in my Hotshot already with a 17T) so that should cope with the motor fine, but not sure if the MB can handle it?

Any thoughts?

The original pink motor is not that powerful compared to modern cars. In fact it's barely more powerful than the Tamiya SuperStock TZ/RZ motors. I think it would do fine in a monster beetle. You will need to use the smallest pinion (if pinions are an option) to cope with the loss of torque and excess rpm. If you've still got too much rpm, you can retard the motor timing. Just don't go past the zero mark...
