Tamiya King 1 Posted April 30, 2011 Mine was my 61 Type I VW engine and transmission swap. I put a 2275cc with dual 40mm carbs in it. The motor came from a Hi-Performance shop in California called JCS. After I was all done, I had close to $6000 into it. More than I paid for the car 5 years ago........but 3 times the Horse Power is worth it.
Tamiya1/10 382 Posted April 30, 2011 $6G and no wippers??? Don't think your bug will go fast enough for the on coming wind to clear your windscreen while is raining. What kind of HP your super bug is getting and 0 - 60 before and after the engine and tranny swop?
TA-Mark 195 Posted April 30, 2011 Don't think your bug will go fast enough for the on coming wind to clear your windscreen while is raining. Rain-X Only time I turn my wipers on is if I'm stopped and it's raining.
Tamiya1/10 382 Posted May 1, 2011 Rain-X Only time I turn my wipers on is if I'm stopped and it's raining. Is a California car, don't need not stinkin wiper as we don't drive in the rain nor there were any rain in the last few years.
tamiyoman 2 Posted May 1, 2011 I Use Rain-X too, over 30 mph its works fine, under that can be a a bit difficult to see.
TA-Mark 195 Posted May 1, 2011 I Use Rain-X too, over 30 mph its works fine, under that can be a a bit difficult to see. It depends on the windscreen rake as to how well it works at low speed. On the old '78 BC Escort coupe I need to be doing around 35mph before it's doing it's job. On the newer Cougar with the really laid back windscreen the water rolls off once you start to move. At the other extreme, the old WWII Willy's Jeep with it's near upright windscreen, the Rain-X does very little at speed and it actually works better when you're stopped.
