Your Largest Repair Bill For Your 1:1 Ride?

Recommended Posts

Mine was my 61 Type I VW engine and transmission swap. I put a 2275cc with dual 40mm carbs in it. The motor came from a Hi-Performance shop in California called JCS.

After I was all done, I had close to $6000 into it. More than I paid for the car 5 years ago........but 3 times the Horse Power is worth it.

$6G and no wippers??? Don't think your bug will go fast enough for the on coming wind to clear your windscreen while is raining. :)

What kind of HP your super bug is getting and 0 - 60 before and after the engine and tranny swop?

Rain-X :) Only time I turn my wipers on is if I'm stopped and it's raining.

I Use Rain-X too, over 30 mph its works fine, under that can be a a bit difficult to see.

It depends on the windscreen rake as to how well it works at low speed. On the old '78 BC Escort coupe I need to be doing around 35mph before it's doing it's job. On the newer Cougar with the really laid back windscreen the water rolls off once you start to move. At the other extreme, the old WWII Willy's Jeep with it's near upright windscreen, the Rain-X does very little at speed and it actually works better when you're stopped.
