after searching i only found 1 on ebay a carson 2700mah.

i would like a 8.4v if it would fit.

also what are life batteries?

i read the tamiya manual recomends a 6.6v life?

LiFe = lithium iron aka A123 cells, its a very small pack (hence the big foam spacer they give in the kit)

A decent hobbyshop would be able to build you a oldeskool 6c humppack from fresh loose cells if needed.

no, i think they're stickpacks with 7th cell perched ontop inline

if that footprint could fit we'd all use std stickpacks and there wouldn't be this size issue :)

tamiya's humppack is 5cells in ladder formation with the 6th bumped up top.

i'm guessing you could put a 7th cell next to the 6th too... B)

I re-soldered some of my old 6-cell packs for a different project. Looking at one next to a vintage hump pack, I could make it a 7-cell easy enough, but I'm not sure if an 8-cell would work in a Buggy Champ. Have to admit my kit is still shrink wrapped since I don't have the time to put it together.

thanks stu22 for the pics

i found some old 7 cell packs and re-soldered them with 5 cells at the bottom and 2 on top.

now just got to find some time to build the bc.
