Hey guys,

I'm trying to get all the screws, nuts, washers, e-clips etc for an old restore project. Where may be the best bet to look for such a thing? It's not a Tamiya (shock horror!) but I know lots of sizes etc are universal. As it's not a Tamiya I know I can't go searching for particular screw bags, so herein lies the problem I guess, as I would not know what sizes come in what bags for what cars etc! Perhaps I'm stuffed? I don't need that many more as luck would have it I have slowly gone through all of my spares and matched up as many as was humanly possible!

Any help with this would be ace as always B)

A lot of the hardware is interchangeable. I frequently use Traxxas and Tamiya hardware for other projects. Metric is metric and much of it will work. Really specialized parts are a problem, but screws, nuts, washers, etc. are a cinch. Some E-clips will work too.

Usually, odd size shoulder screws or kingpins, and especially steering servo links or gear shaft rods are just about impossible to use anything other than stock replacement parts though.

I prowl ebay for cheap $1-2 bags of vintage hardware and end up using tons of stuff from the resulting spares box.

OK great thanks, so basically just search ebay for 'vintage' screw bags etc? B)

Avoid Associated - their stuff is American Imperial!

I usually get mine from 'graveyard' lots, or unfinished projects off ebay...

Hi there, ok thanks will do. Just so as I understand you correctly, does this mean you literally search for 'graveyard' on ebay?! B)

I've seen "junkyard" or "job lot" sales on ebay with hardware and other junk.

Losi and Associated will NOT work. I think Kyosho and Yokomo will though.

Not sure about others like CEN, OFNA, HPI, & such. Anybody know?

Any major companys hardware will work, except for Associated and Losi...

Metric rules! Down with Imperial! ;)
