Oops Accidently Ordered......... Tamiya F350

Recommended Posts

Hi people,

Well, I've just accidently ;) ordered a nice Tamiya F350 kit. Abit of retail theropy after a bad week :P

1, Can you recommend me a servo for the steering and gear? (I'm guessing a basic servo be fine for gears)

2, Will a carson Truck Puller 7.2v work with the MFC-02?

Thats all I can think of at the moment

Hi people,

How do you "accidently" order a kit? How do you explain that to 'er indoors?

"Well Mrs TheBlueDragon, the cat was playing with the compute mouse while dancing a jig on the keyboard, and incredibly enough, managed to get the right combination of letters and clicks - including my 16-digit credit card number - and address - to accidently order a kit" :P

when i had my Tundra i used the Futaba S3305 (metal geared) for steering and S3004 for shifting.

I'm sure the truck puller will work with your MFC, i used the Tamiya CR Tuned which worked a treat.

I was like keyboard tourettes, I couldn't help it.

Would a couple of these last? I don't really have alot of money as I'm also trying to save for a motability car so I can start going to meets

Also I just wondered, does the kit use many nuts? if so does it come with locking nuts? if not I'm going to buy some

The torque of the Hitec servos you have "quoted" is not much better than a standard servo..

I initially fitted something similar to this to my Highlift, and found that it would not turn the wheels at all when stationary, and did a poor job even when moving..

I now have a Hitec 645MG to use, and I hope that will do a better job... BTW, I dont plan on using a servo saver with the 645MG..

From memory, the Highlift comes with quite a few nylock nuts, but I am sure that the kit contains a tube of Tamiya Threadlock for the "plain nuts", such as those that hold the 2 diff halves together etc..

Cheers

Well I just ordered a pack of 100 locking m3 nuts for £3 so that will be good, when using the vibration unit does it make a horrid banging noise like in the trucks? or is it quiet and just gives the right effect?

I've done that a few times, best bit is explaining it to the internal powers. I keep the new aquisition in the garage they proclaim (when it has been discovered) 'its been there weeks '!
