Avatar Issues

I'm trying to add an avatar, and I get the following error message:

The file you requested to upload was greater than the limit the administrator has set for your group.

I thought the software resized images, so am rather confused?

Is the file a jpg or png and under 50kb in size? My Avatar is 90 x 90 pixels. I cropped, edited and resized the image in Corel, but you could use photoshop or similar. You also need to wait for an admin to approve your avatar before it will show.

I've found that even though it does resize it doesn't resize a lot. You'll still need to resize it yourself to get it within the necessary limitiations.

It might be the kb size of the avatar - people've added 800 x 600 pics before now, and the software makes them smaller, but they have to be of a certain kb size to upload

As it says on the "avatar upload page" :

Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 50 KB.

The following file types are allowed: jpg,jpeg,png

The software reduce pixcel size, but it will only work if you upload a file with 50 KB or less file size.
