Herbie Decals

Recommended Posts

We are looking for some Herbie 51 decals. Does anybody know if there is a place where we can buy them. It would be for a lexan body and it would be great if we could stick them from the inside.

Print them on clear decal foil and stick them from the inside. Why from the inside for a Lexan body?

I must be missing something here - why would you want to stick decals on from the inside? The adhesive would blur the images, and paint wouldn't stick to the back of them ... ?

we thought if we stick it from the inside and cover it with paint. that it will last longer and look better

umm.. Herbie is not "51" :D

Does anybody know if there is a place where we can buy them.

there's a few ppl that make them, lotsa closet herbie fans around :D

depends how picky you are... to do a proper job of Herbie replica it needs to be done in the correct font.

And anyone who does them in plain helvetica or arial ain't doing it right, 'cos it'll just look wrong.

underbody decals not hard to do, but they have some issues of their own too

over time the sticker can shrink leaving a hairline paint gap at the edges

if the shell you are using is properly detailed, there will also be several creases on the bonnet that the roundel

needs to bridge over... generally stickers hate negotiating that type of curve and will lift over time.

You are better off getting masks cut and paint everything for the ultimate in durability.
