Does anyone make a receiver mounted LED switcher?

Just made up a couple of lights, but the RX plug's only a 2 wire jobbie (red and black), so the lights are always on, even though it's connected into the switchable 3rd channel socket on my RX

Does anyone sell a doo hickey that'll recognise when the thrid channel's on or off so that I can control the lights from the TX?

There is also the "old school" method; mount a microswitch on a servo & run it that way, depends if you've got room for another servo or not.

That was actually considered, but I thought a bit of tech might be available ;)

:D Just checked ebay, I can get two micro servos, shipped, from HK for £3.50

Makes €18.50 for a PCB seem steep :(

Looks like I'll be cave-manning it again :D

No big rush, although this (from Orange's site) made me chuckle;

New transport minister Philip Hammond has already revised the levels of ash considered safe to fly through, increasing the limit to 10 times what it was last month. But what does Hammond know anyway? He spent the last two years preparing for a job in the Treasury, only for those plans to be scuppered when his party failed to win an outright majority at the election.

Deciding what is or is not a safe level of ash to be flying huge planes around in is surely not a job for a newly minted transport minister, or any politician for that matter.

Scientists are predicting further eruptions in Iceland and ash chaos which could splutter on for decades – let’s get real experts making these decisions, right away.

First plane that slams into the ground unexpectedly will put a stop to all the discussions - there's only one side gonna be right on this.

There's also possible to do from a old servo : http://rsb.se/arena/showpost.php?p=407658&postcount=49

It's in swedish but it looks quite straight forward...as soon as I can get my hands on a 5K varistor I'll build one...

The advantage from that design is that it will work like a real rear light, dim when going forward and light up brighter when breaking...

But that is for break-lights though....will work with just toggling a LED on and off...

Andy - don't know if I'm too late on this one or if you have gone down the microswitch route :-).

I have some of the RC flysoft circuits you can have for nowt if you PM me your address. I used them for remotely controlling lights on some of my Tamiyas and they worked pretty well. Not sure I still have any instructions on programming them, but from memory you can download them from the RC flysoft site.
