Well I just got the kit, but it seems it requires the 6.6v Tamiya battery. Any one out there fit a regular 7.2V 6 cell with success? Maybe some pics if you have.

A stick pack won't fit without modification (or "destruction") of the radio box. You'll need a 7.2v hump pack. I have my LHS make my batts - but I know there are manufacturers who make them. Do a Google search for the following and you'll find what you need: Carson 2700mah 7.2v Hump Battery. I don't know where you are, but they seem to be available on both sides of the pond. Hope this helps.

BTW - Have fun with the build and then get out and DRIVE IT. :)

I just finished my re-re Scorcher, and have purchased a LRP VTEC 7,2 volt 1600 mAh battery for it.. It is meant to be used in the small-size buggies like the LRP Shark, but with a little cutting in the protective-foam pad, it fits perfectly into the radiotub oh the SRB´s too. :)

Cheers..

I have a couple of Venom 3000mah 6 volt ni-mh batteries and they fit one at a time. Only 6 volt so the buggy champ isn't super fast but it works well and has a 30 minute run time. There is also a 240 volt Venom charger to suit which at slow charge of 0.8 amps takes around 3 hours to charge and around 1/2 that time on fast charge. Thanks Ian

I had the guy at my LHS modify my 7.2V battery to fit in the box of my new Sand Scorcher. You have to careful where you place the cel on top so the lid fits on properly. Simple mod, no problems.

I bought one of these for mine, fits great:

Tamiya Ni-Cd Battery 7.2V 1700mAh Racing Pack 1700MP (Part no. 49171)

It's the battery for the Tyrrell 6-wheeler re-re.
