hi I am playing with a madcap at the moment, I've had added diff hop up, bearings and motor mount plate hop up. The question is it still has the mechanical speed controler, would I get awy with fitting a 15 turn 540 motor - or will it all go bang, I am after a good madcap rearwing if anyone has one? anyone got any advice on how to hop up the shocks and where I can get a set from?

thanks,

It's not going to go bang, but it will burn out the resistor and possibly melt the little wires, and you might have some burning on the moving part as well.

So no, it's not a good idea to run a 15 turn motor on a mechanical speedo.

Hi - tried a 15 turn on the mechanical set up and burnt out the controler! Then tried 15 turn with 15 turn esc and nearly burnt our the motor, put a smaller pinion on and nearly burnt it out agian - lots of smoke.

I was thinking of going 15t pinion with 77 spur would this work? or would it be better to just put a black can in are forget about uber speed?

Do you think the 15t motor is now toast? it still spins once it had cooled down, its only a clash anyway.

i run a Tamiya Super Stock RZ in mine, its 23 turn, with HEAPS of torque. it's currently running 23t pinon 70t spur. does not seem to get overly hot, but it has HEAPS of punch, its a great motor. i run a Futaba MC330 ESC and run a 4000mah LIPO battery. i have had to tighten up the diff significantly to stop the motor slipping it.

i would suggest 15t is overkill for the madcap, i think torque is more handy to have than top end, particularly if you are running it on the dirt

That is a great motor. One word of advice though, you can find them on the web for half of what Tower wants for them. I buy a lot of stuff from Tower, but some of it you have to be careful on. I would definitely check the bay first.
