Looks great. what did you have in mind for a driver?
If I had the driver I know I would have painted it blue (although I am now considering customize a pair of black leather seats and a steering wheel to "complete" it).

Anyway, I love the color contrast -just like what you can see in Tamiya's 1978 Cheetah model.

That's coming along really nicely Erich! It's looking really good  I believe James was reproducing the M60, I'm not sure how far he got as I last spoke to him was before he shifted, maybe send him a PM?

Thank you, Neil!

Yes, Beetlelover is almost ready with the first set of M-60 repro guns. I guess we can expect superb quality. I think at some point I will order one of them, but right now I am more into finding the driver body and right arm. My budget nowadays is very limited -I know I should not have got into this FAV project, but the price was way too good to miss!

Have a great Tuesday, Neil!

Same here Erich, I'm always skint, and I can only afford a couple of parts a week but I say go where your heart takes you! You have to do what you have a passion for, and to heck with the cost!!

Cheers,

Alistair G.

Well, what can I say?

Anyway, I am in hopes to receive some money soon so I can get back my TC showroom. Then I will be able to upload the "before & after" pictures of this FAV.

Have a good Wednesday, Alistair!

I renewed my TC membership a couple of days ago. The pictures of the FAV restoration are HERE

And this afternoon I installed the period Futaba electronics. Totally vintage. B)

Hey everyone,

I have been very busy and away mostly because of a nasty and persistent flu. Haven't had a minute to work the car here, but I have found the driver for the Fast Attack Vehicle (THANK YOU, STUART!). I will try to strip and paint it sometime this weekend. In the meantime, here's a couple of pictures of the car and the Australian driver.

You all have a GREAT weekend! :)

Hopefully that day won't be far away!! :(

Hiya Fatboyslim. How have you been -Long since the last time!

Anyway, last Saturday I spent some hours working on the driver. You can see more pictures HERE

This is how the Australian driver looks on my Whisky Buggy.

Have a great Monday!

Thank you, James. Actually, you and I we will have another talk about the F.A.V. sometime in October. I guess you can imagine the reasons for that. Anyway, my time's been very limited this semester, and so I have not had much time to work the cars as I used to. The next project is a TA-02 based 4X4 Ford Bronco that is waiting for me to correct something in the chassis and paint the lexan body. Painting is always the unfortunate part of building kits, specially when bodies are made of lexan. I was expecting to have both cars running sometime in September. By now I presume the Fast Attack Vehicle will be ready next month, but the Bronco will have to wait a little more. I'm dealing with backlogged work nowadays, plus the usual pile of papers to be graded. But I do love what I do any way.

So, I think my two 2010 projects will be showcased anytime in September and October. That's my hope by now, ha ha.

Anyway, have a great Tuesday!

THANK YOU FATBOYSLIM AND BEETLELOVER!

What a great surprise. You guys are awesome.

Here it is!! (It took me less than one hour to clean it, paint it, and install it. Now I have to go back to my backlogged work...)

You all have a great Wednesday! ;)

Glad you got it safely! I was beginning to start counting days since I sent it off. To be honest it was 99% Fatboyslim who shouted you! I'd just been holding it specially for you, just a matter of and sending it to you! It has come up well and looks authentic, that FAV must almost be done now :) All the best with the next project!

cheers

James :)

Glad to help Erich, you've done a great job so far and it seemed such a shame that the M60 was about the final part needed

the M60 looks great you've painted it really good and James has done a great repro job on it

I'm pleased you're happy with it Erich and I must also thank James for helping me out

I spent some time today working the Fast Attack Vehicle rollbar top part.

I got this part from Dutch TC member Pakoo. I had to fix a couple of holes, then I painted it. Now looks very good.

Next weekend I'll paint the wheels.

Now there is just one part missing to complete it (the receiver's battery cover). I'm excited!

You all have a great Sunday!

Erich

Well it took me AGES to reach the final step, but here it is. The 1984 Fast Attack Vehicle with all of its parts and in much better condition than how I found it last year

With this last reply I close the thread. I hope my work can be of help to fellow TCers working this exceptional Chenowth military buggy.

A BIG THANK YOU to all the people who helped me to reach the final step. I'm happy now with my original Fast Attack Vehicle!

You all have a great Tuesday! :)
