but does this weird thing and want to know if its normal

when i turn transmitter on then turn car on it automatically drives forward for split second

is this normal as it only started doing since the smart lipo cutoff was installed

i think it also drove forward when i turned car on before i turned transmitter on

which i know u should never do

thanks

What brand have you got?

Maybe the part where you set it to go to neutral when the radio is off, is not set correctly. So it goes forward.

If it's the Novak one fitted between the ESC and the RX and you're using Spektrum the Smart-Stop may be delaying the re-bind when you power up.

The novak one is supposed to go to neutral in case of signal interruption. So if you have programmed it right, it should do that.

its straight forward to reprog esc

i programmed it before and after i installed the novak lipo cut off

i might remove it and se eif it still does it

im pretty sure everything is fine as im pretty clued up with electronics

the esc doesnt have reverse just forward and brake

this might be normal

i guess unles ssomeone else has one and can comment ill just put up with it and make sure i turn it on in the air

just had a thought

its a newly purchased lipo so maybe its undercharged and doing this like the cut out is doing the throttle blipping

il charge it on weelend and see hwo it goes

thanks for your comments

When you program the cut out, you are supposed to program a setting for the cutout to go to, when there is no signal for example.

Maybe you have set this one wrong, so it goes forward.

Try reprogramming the cutout.

The cutout has a little button on it.

1. Switch OFF the power button on the ESC.

2. Press and hold the little button on the cutoff unit.

3. Keep holding the cutoff button thing, and then switch ON the power button on the ESC while still holding the button.

4. A LED on the cutoff will appear SOLID. Then release the button.

5. Go to full throttle, LED will turn green SOLID. Then release to neutral position, led will FLASH green, and then turn RED.

If this happens, you have programmed correctly.

If you do this incorrectly, and the led flash green while you are still holding throttle, then it will go forward when it has no signal.
