Hi Gents,

I've just posted a wanted in the trade section for a wing stay and wing stay mounts from either Astute, Egress or Top Force.

If any of you has one to offer local, please let me know? Cheers.

With spring just around the corner, I think another meet should be on the cards too aye!

Ok , Al has rung me & he has found a place we can use . It's a track with AstroTurf .

The bowling club that it's located on & if we pay $25. for the year each for Insurance

etc . Al is going to E-mail me & let me know more about it . As it may not be for us

As some of the stuff may be to extreme for the vintage . As i said it won't be extreme

for us old school guys LOL . Will update you when i can & we could look at having a run soon .

Hey Matman, did you and Al find out more about this? Here is what I'm thinking out loud: $25 for a year membership. It becomes the automatic venue for organising meets. We have maybe 2 or 4 meets a year at a time when the regular users aren't there. The bowling club membership should give us access to their other facilities such as bar and bbq (most important).

Watcha Reckon?

Sounds like a great plan , Not that i drink , so that don't matter too me :D .

I can give him a ring , But no one replied before so we didn't go much more than it is .

So if any one else is keen , let me know ( WA perth ) of course .

I didn't think the $25. is bad price & it gives us a base that we could call home  .

I'd be up for that $25 is nothing when covering insurance and giving us a venue. Must say I need a trip out with the cars again. Not been out since the run near the airport.

Thanks Mark, we'll be relying on you to post up pics of the Vintage Festival for us M8.

Now, it's about time we pulled together the next WATC meet so I have contacted the Carine RC Car Club. Here is a link to their site. http://www.carinerccc.com/

After making contact, I received a great reply from Club President Adrian.

Hi Justin

We would be more than happy to host a dedicated Vintage meet at our track . We have plenty of people with vintage and re release Tamiyas at the club as well as original rc10 jrxs and old hybrid team cars . At the moment we are running club days on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month so if you let me know a date your keen on i am sure we can work something out . We have full AMB timing system and a few PTs to loan out to people who dont have them. This Sunday 24th March is our first big race meet for the year the Bombshell Classic and we will be running a demo race for vintage at the end of it to gauge interest and possibly make it a permanent fixture at future events .

Send me an email if you wish to make this happen

Thanks

Adrian

So gents, should this be of interest please post here or send me a PM. Once we agree on a Sunday that suits everyone and as long as there is enough interest, I am happy to coordinate this one and liaise with Adrian. This idea and venue is not set in stone, any and all input is welcome. Cheers.

Thommo

M8 I just might try and swing past for a look.

I have tried to PM Tipsy, beetlebanger1, Madmuz77, Wild Willy Speed Shop and SB Aust but I'm not sure if it worked. The message might have gone only to you.

I have Jacko Boys email and I will email him the details once the next meet is confirmed.

Here's hoping for a solid response.

Hey Thommo. No PM came through. I like the sound of this. I was thinking of maybe taking a look this Sunday, but I cannot see any location map, and looks like it opens while I'm doing the Freeway cycle for Asthma event. If you have any more info though, let us know

So far everyone seems happy with the Carine RCC Track in Greenwood as a venue. How about Sunday 28th April ?

@Matman, you have the furthest to travel and ideally we want a Sunday that everyone can attend.

Please everyone post up if Sunday 28th April does or does not work for you ? Cheers.

Sounds good to me, & I should be good for the 28th April. We need to find out a more details though, costs? will we grouped into classes-stock/mod/year/chassis type?

how do they feel about track usage on non club days?

might try to get there on Sunday & check it out.

OK so I checked out the Bombshell Classic at Carine RCCC today. I spoke with Club President Adrian about our next meet and he is really positive and welcoming of the idea and a good chap.

Here is the nuts and bolts.

We are welcome to use the track at no charge.

We need to pick a date on the 2nd or 4th Sunday of the month, (to be determined once we know everyone is available).

As we would be tacking this onto a club meet, we use the track after the regular meet which usually wraps up by 2pm.

We are welcome to run practice laps, just run around the track or race some classes if we want.

Carine RCCC members will be encouraged to bring their vintage racers, Tamiya re-re's, cars and parts on the day and who knows, there might even be some trades.

Parking is right next to the track as the club has car access to Penistone Park. There is plenty of shade and if we start at or before lunchtime we can socialise, get cars ready and shoot the breeze. Maybe even a barbie. ;)

So watcha reckon ?
