Madmuz77 19 Posted April 28, 2013 (7.00am WST) Sorry guys still feeling lousy today. Unlikely i will be able to come out this time. I am annoyed with myself cause I had my Super Champ and Rough Rider ready to go since last weekend. Well i have been thinking & it's just going to be a long day . 4 hours to get there & the same home . I woud not be able to stay to long 1 or 2 hours & would have to head home . I was looking to see if it was going to rain , As i would have done the trip & would have rained off mondays jobs . But it looks like i can't & can't take the gambel . Would have been great to have been there , I was not going to run . But may have taken up beetlebanger1's old Sand scorcher for a run & of course may Boomerang . So Sorry guys & have a great day & get plenty of pic's . Sorry to hear that guys though if thing go well maybe we can use the track again at a time that suits everyone. I have to admit I've been a bit slack & a couple of projects I was hoping to finish before today haven't been done & a couple of new motors I ordered from Hobbyking haven't arrived yet(will show up tomorrow knowing my luck) I still have 6 or 7 runners ready to go & I may still bring my King cab though it's not finished. At least it looks like we have the weather on our side today so it should be a fun day. Still charging batts & getting cars ready at the moment will see you guys soon
Tipsy 7 Posted April 28, 2013 Cheers Thommo for organising an excellent new race location. The guys at the track were top notch and really helpful. They are happy for us running there even on alternate weekends to their race meets Great track, good to meet familiar faces and new ones, and good running. Looking forward to the next event. Thommo 1217 Posted April 30, 2013
Great to catch up with you all again. Thanks everyone for a fun arvo! With a bit more organising the next meet will be....well better organised. Great that we can use the track again too. I was so busy with cars I forgot to take any photos. Here is the couple I did get.

SB_Aust 42 Posted May 1, 2013 What a superb lineup! The clodbuster looks huge in the background..All look great.
matman 1499 Posted May 2, 2013 Very nice line up indeed & wish i was there . Now that you have been on the track , what was the best car to us on it ?. I Love the Egress Thommo . Who's is the Clod ? As i have got one of those & will bring that down as well . So what happened to all the Pic's Guy ??????? .
Tipsy 7 Posted May 2, 2013 I had pretty much as many pics as above. Only took photos of the lineup, then spent the rest of the time running or repairing! The track was being used by quite a mix, inc 1/8 brushless. I had fun with both 2WD & 4WD, but i'm not sure Clod style would do well on the track.
Jacko Boy 0 Posted May 2, 2013 awesome day, thanks to the club and to thommo!
Thommo 1217 Posted May 2, 2013 Eggy went great until this happened. I think I went a little too hard on the rear springs and way too hard over one of the doubles. matman, the track is fine but you need plenty of power if you are going to try and clear the doubles. The Clod belonged to one of the Carine members (Dave) who also brought down a Lunchbox, Hirobo Zerda, Gold pan RC10 and a funky SRB hybrid with CRP parts. Jacko Boy, it was great meeting you buddy and some very nice cars you have there. I really do hope you can make it to all of our meets. I would really like to set some class runs/races next time and better organise the day. Next time we will start in the morning and have more time to get pics, socialise a bit more and run the day just how we want to. Sunday was a bit hectic but it was still great to run on the track and establish ourselves with the Carine RCCC guys who were awesome.
Thommo 1217 Posted May 2, 2013 FYI, this is the message that I just sent to Adrian. Hi Adrian, Firstly a big thanks for allowing us to run on the track Sunday, greatly appreciated. My apologies for the curbing that took a hammering from clumsy kids, I'm not even sure where half of those kids came from ! We really did just want to check out how the track would go and how we would be received. I really appreciate you offering us use of the track again and I'm certain that we will run our next meet on an alternative Sunday. By running on an alternative Sunday we would have more time to organise ourselves properly, socialise a bit more and set class runs/races with the guys driving from the tower and just a couple of guys out there flipping the roll overs and returning the run offs. It would be great if you and Dave (is he Dave Kilroy?) plus anyone else that is interested could get involved in our next meet too. The more the merrier and with better organisation on my part for the next one, we should be able to run with more guys. Thanks again for your interest mate, that is a great little set up and a great club you have there. Justin
Madmuz77 19 Posted May 2, 2013 I was the same as everyone else, I took pics at the start then was to busy running cars after that & forgot to take any more. It was a fun day & was good to catch up & meet members of both clubs, and get used to the track. I think most us spent more time on the work bench then on the track Thanks to Thommo for organising & to Carine RCC for letting us use the track. I noticed that they have a couple of pics on their website. Looking forward to the next meet guys, now that we have a track to use maybe it could be sooner rather then later? matman 1499 Posted May 2, 2013 So how much power do you need ?.17.5 BL or more ?. Alot also is set up & grip . Preload etc . So i can't wait till i can get down there . So i think it will have to be my boomerang , super shot , Beetlebanger1's old sand scorcher & some others to play with . Won't be long till we could have a Fox run if we all get fox's ?. A 17.5 may get over the two doubles but IMO a bit more would be better, the track seems to be designed for 1/8 scale so the jumps are quite far apart especially the back triple. But I found as the track surface is pretty uneven it's just as much trying to get the right line for the jumps as the speed to clear them, to be honest I didn't even complete 1 full lap clearing all the jumps & I only made the back triple once all day. Still a fun track to use, can't wait to get back there.
matman 1499 Posted May 6, 2013 Good job i have my own track , that i started off as a 1/8th track with a quad & triple & to do that you had too have the right line , I didn't get it all the time . So a 13.5 maybe better ?, I do have a 10.5 in my boomerang & that does work well , But it does have too much power . I have backed off the power on that so it becomes usable . I have Al coming down this weekend , for some RC fun . So i can get in some RC race time . WooHoo ...
Thommo 1217 Posted May 6, 2013 Still a fun track to use, can't wait to get back there. +1 We were a bit short on numbers for racing or running class groups last time. I'm hoping to get enough of us together on the next one to run a bit more organised. Also the next one will run from 9:00am so we will have more time to get our act together. I'm happy to kick some ideas around here on what classes we would like to run and when the next meet should Be ?
Thommo 1217 Posted August 28, 2013 This thread has been very quiet over winter so I thought I would give it a kick. Please see my post above and also lets have a bit of input from everyone as to what we want to do next. Public space this time or another go at the track ? Also good to know if there are any particular dates in September or October that don't suit anyone. This way we can set a date that suits all.

Tipsy 7 Posted August 29, 2013 I'm not going to be around much in October, but September is good. I'd prefer the track. It catered really well for us last time out.

Gday Tipsy, hope you are travelling well Mate. I doubt I could get this off the ground in September. Will you be here for the first 1st Sunday in October (Sun 6th) ? I think it's really important that we set a date that can get all of us involved as there is only a handful of us. I'm happy to make arrangements for the track again, but there has to be enough interest to warrant making it happen. Otherwise just let me know what dates in November will work for you? Tipsy 7 Posted August 30, 2013 Hey Thommo. Travel....what a pain! Im not in the country on the 6th, but will be around from the 27th Oct onwards, so I would make sure im about any of the Sundays from then?

Let's all aim for the first Sunday in November which is the 3rd. I just hope we get enough interest to warrant booking the track again. It would be great to have enough so that we can run some categories.

This may count me out as it's in my busy part of the year for me . Oh Well !! Would be good if we had more interest . I am sure Big Al would come down as well . But that time is not going to be good for me . So good luck .
