Thommo 1217 Posted November 18, 2013 Another great day out. Well done to the guys from Carine RC club that not only allowed us to use their track, but even arranged a BBQ for us this time. Had some good running, but this time spent more time marshalling or taking pics. The Egress race pics (2 cars!) were plentiful. I've added the better ones below. Roll on the next event, even if its just a bash near the airport. A re-release RC10 made it to the races. Hotshot in the background. Spot the Boomerang :-) The Egress race lineup. Nice compression before the jump. Matman's about to leap Thommo's big air Maybe a little close on this one Wow Tipsy ! You are now officially head of our media department with those pics. I just had to bump this to the next page. Mate, I absolutely need copies please.
Thommo 1217 Posted November 18, 2013 Jacko Boy's Battle Boomer. This is one strong car. Tipsy's original Brat. My Astute. So glad it survived ! Stickman. How cool was this guy ? Dave's Cat. His cars and driving is first class.

I'm stoked with how keen they are and some of the quality vintage they have.
Madmuz77 19 Posted November 18, 2013 I agree the Carine rcc guys input was a big help & Adrian's idea of running a stock vintage class on club days could be fun.

All they want is to have some good old fashion RC fun . I wish i didn't have 400 + k's to get up there , as i would be there every race meet . + Dave want's to do the vintage stock 540 class & i would be in for that . Come on guys that live there , get it happening . For the sake of RC nut's . .
Jesse James 13 Posted November 30, 2013 Cool stuff in here guys. 540 & lipo in vintage racing is awesome. If you haven't already, have a look at some of the vintage festival vids on youtube put up by Ed. They really are quick and good to drive at that speed. It also generated some pretty entertaining racing

They really are quick and good to drive at that speed. It also generated some pretty entertaining racing I totally agree. I ran my Astute with a 540 silver can and 2S LiPo at this event and it was great fun. Much better than when I had 10t brushless in it. Thommo 1217 Posted February 17, 2014 matman, go the Yellow Fury Egress. I can't wait to see that on the track. Check out this link to Vintage 540 rules for Carine on post #39. Black cans are allowed and with 2S should be great fun.
matman 1499 Posted February 17, 2014 To slow stock 540 , I have 13.5 & that feels slow & i'm happy with that . I was taking to Dave on friday & no one used a 540 stock . Now it says pre 1991 , so does this include re re's ?. It should be brushless , 13.5 or even 17.5 & li-po . Most of use have them & use them . Will see how it goes . Madmuz77 19 Posted February 20, 2014 Sounds like a plan, count me in. As for motors the slowest brushless I have is a 8.5, for stock class though I'm fine with running a black can on 2s.
matman 1499 Posted February 20, 2014 I'm not too sure on that date , I will have too see & wing it .
