Anybody have one of these?

http://www.rccarparts.biz/product_info.php...products_id=441

It looks well made, but does seem to eat up a lot of ground clearance up front which the Hotshot needs as much as it can get. Anybody (other than the builder, I know you are on here.. LOL) have one of these kits?

I always thought that looked like a pretty good kit. Though I don't like the idea of an alloy bumper (as it will scratch and bend), the rest looks quite sound. Ground clearance will suffer a bit though...

I use the old Parma bump-steer kit which is simply a pair of extended ball studs for the steering knuckles. It make the tie-rods the proper angle in relation to the control arms. Of course the steering is still not perfect. The long tie-rod interferes with the lower bumper plate causing the droop to be different from left to right (not a huge deal). It also doesn't solve the problem of having the two tie-rods a different length. But I can honestly say that it was one of the best hop-ups for the Hotshot I've used. Makes the bump-steer 1000% better. Plus it's a relatively inexpensive set (if you can find it)....

The problem with the Parma kit is that I believe you got the last one. hehe :D This kit kind of looks like it has the longer ballstuds in it. Do you think he might sell my just the ballstuds vs. the whole kit? ;) It looks like it has some well made parts, I just don't want to sacrifice ground clearance.

I didn't realize they were that hard to find. When I got mine they seemed to be on ebay all the time for about $5 or less...

To me it looks like the kit includes standard ball studs at the knuckle. The long ones shown would need sleeves to make the stand out taller than normal.

You don't happen to remember your search method when trying to find them do you? I have tried every version of Parma + Hotshot, Screw, Stud, etc. and haven't ever been able to find anything. I am not sure about the m03 version that another member mentioned too.

The only things I really want to do with my Hotshot is to get rid of the bump-steer and get rid of the mono-shocks (both ends) and will be done with that one.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Dan! That is a very nice looking Hotshot.. One of the best I have seen! My problem with what you have there is that I don't want to lose my front bumper either. I have a couple of cars that I tinker with that I don't want to have to be careful with as much and my Hotshot is one of them so the bumper has to stay on. Speaking of bumpers, they are a little hard to find.

A quick search for "Parma Bump-steer" on google returned these in images:

I'm curious about that setup too. I haven't touched my hotshot in over a year but some cool hopups might force me to bring it out of hibernation. I'm still in search of a suspension conversion, as I feel that this is the most important hopup for the hotshot.

My Super Shot is now finished.

It has bell cranks from a top force with bearings, Totally re worked suspension package with propley matched alloy shocks with losi springs all round.

'The front now bottoms out and still has more travell left. No more cracked chassis. Took alot of time to get the right dampers the correct length as the orignals are too long in the damper body & doesn't allow the chassis to bottom out sending the shock through the chassis.

The handling is so good and steering response is so nimble with a standard servo. The Top force cranks allow much tighter lock with no bump steer.

This mod was fairly easy just a little trial and error to get it right. Electrics are tight and needed a small ESC so i used a LRP quantum 2.

The body is a RePo as are the decals from Panda GFX.

Cheeck it out on you tube on its first run.

Look at meetings and events here than Aussies keen for a bash at boondal. The White Super Shot.

The motor was in bad shape but will be alot faster after a re build. A little more tuning in the shocks to do but a very good first run. Only been around 10 months in the making. LOL

I allso have a metal RC Channel suspension kit on my Hot Shot. I feel this moded S/Shot is way better.

Can you do the steering modifications that you did to your Super Shot, to a HotShot ?

Pictures would be nice! :)

I wish i can post pics but still don't know.

Yes Alistair this can be done to a Any Hot Shot based Chassis. My mate Jason ( Bormac) has a slightly better and simple conversion using a Avanti steering rack which is slightly lower profile. Also more $$$ to buy though.

Ive seen RC cranks used too. I used Top Force cranks because i had lots of the J parts tree and a spare set of alloy posts. Really so much better to drive.
