Hi all!

Just thought I would introduce myself - being a newbie here!

My name is Rich and I am 35 years old. I had as a child a Subaru Brat which got me started on the whole Tamiya thing. This was followed consequently by a falcon, a Midnight Pumpkin and then a TA01 Escort Cosworth which I brought fro Beaties in Sheffield on a whim when I was 19ish!!

I still have the Cossie but minus the shell, wheels, prop shaft and front gears / drivertrain, and when I was messing with it I mentioned to my wife about my earlier cars. She then got me a rere Brat a couple christmasses ago. Since then, I brought a Lunchbox, and she got me a Pumpkin and a Hornet!

Anyway, that's me!

Love the site btw!

Welcome! I'm a relative newbie myself to TC, but not to RC. I also got a re-re BRAT recently, due in part to a teenage memory of fixing a family friend's BRAT - they were brand new at the time. 380 motor, hex driveshafts. I've also got 3 Lunchboxes, due again to having to build and paint one for neighbour's kid back in the 90s. B)

Happy RC'ing!

That's a familiar tale I think ... I have a couple of years on you, but I had a few cars as a youngin', and got the bug again a couple of years ago ... you're doing well if you've only got 4 cars in two years :P

My name is Jon, and I'm a Tamiyaholic :)

Welcome on board B)

Hi Rich,

A warm welcome. I am a newbie myself and only just got into rc a few months ago.

I have caught the Tamiya bug and will be looking at buying my first kit soon.

It's a friendly place here and full of Tamiyaholics !!!

Welcome on board :D

It's not for want of trying!! I love the rere's of the old models from my youth but I can't justify the cost really ;) ! Presently I don't have room to store many more either but we are extending the house so that issue should be resolved soon enough!

I fancy a 3 speed one day and I don't think I can resist a Grasshopper to go with my hornet for much longer!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Welcome Glassback. Just go with it, it's a addiction you will never have control over, dont fight it.... ;)

I have 17 in one year, and then theres the money spent on restoring and hop-ups... :D

Cant believe I forgot to mention my beloved Mardave Meteor! I used to have both chassis for it - the long and short wheel base. I used to race the short on a Wed evening at the local indoor track, then rebuild the car on the lwb chassis for the weekend outdoor track. Neither of the tracks are in use any more and I don't know of any nearby. :P

Another car I forgot to mention was the HPI rush evo that I dabbled with for a while! Didn't get on with the nitro engine too well. Running issues aside, it was noisy and smelly - not condicive to neighbourhood running!
