Supershot In My Future?

Well, I've been wanting one of these for a while now and am visting another city and thought I'd look at local classifieds to see what they had since nothing good ever pops up on mine and I found a Supershot for sale for $250 obo. From the pictures, the thing looks pristine, save for the missing bumper. The seller said there's something wrong with the gearbox, but really that's not a big deal, either I get a new one or strip that one down, clean it, regrease it and re-assemble it. My question is, what's the most you guys would pay for one of these in very good condition? A NIB kit fetches a lot, I know that, but I never see built cars for sale. I'm going to check it out on Thursday and hopefully pick it up. I'm thinking of offering him slightly less, as he did offer it as obo.

If you can get ot for $200USD and its in pristin condition you will have done well i think.

Well i bought mine this time last yr and looked really good. Came with a Le Mans 240SB in box.

Cost me $530 AU posted. Of e bay U.S.

This was before their was re po bodies out and that was the best part on it.

Since than i bought a Re re Hot Shot kit and rebuilt it with new parts and it needed it , ( cracked Chassis, Cracked front Gearbox, Needed all new gears.)

Has Top Force steering cranks and re worked suspension .

It had its maiden run last week.

Man that looked so good and performed so well.

Im also a fan of the Super Shot now thanks to my good buddy Mark (MAD RACER). I currently own 2 of these cars and recently sold another. There's just something super sexy about them. They also drive well for such an old design.

+1, do it! Rare car. VERY good looking and a nice car to drive. They can fetch a few hundred if they are new built, but price does drop drastically if the car has been run or the Technipower is missing. Be warned, original rear tires are the same spike tires that the Avante wears, so original rear tires cost a fortune. Re-re Hotshot oval blocks fit it fine though.

Give in to that little voice. It would go with the Hotshot really well. I hope to get mine rebuilt within the next month or so.

As to price mine was about $200 posted. It is in fairly good condition and complete with the Technipower and original electronics. The body is good without any cracks or gravel rash but there are some paint issues. The wheels are chipped and the tyres are worn about half way down.

When it is rebuilt it will have modern electronics, motor, wheels, tyres and a repro body for running (originals will be used for display).

wouldn't a Hotshot with 4-shocks run just as well as a Supershot? or am i missing something

or even a Boomerang with front shocks upgrade

No Willy. Its just some guys like a Super Shot Shell. As well as knowing it was a Factory modded Hot Shot.

They look so Tuff in white as well.

The Under Guard helps.

If I wasn't on here so much(& epay) & spent some time in the shed working on my supershot I might be able to join in on the supershot fun. Just getting anything going seems a mission lately. I blame winter.

Well, after much deliberation, I decided to pass and see if I can find one down the stretch. I trekked out of the city to check this one out. Good condition overall. Skid plate was a little scuffed in the rear, wheels were slightly chipped up, no front bumper and no technigold. I would have offered him $150 for it, but I know wouldn't have taken it. One of these days I'll get one. I'm surprised they didn't rere that instead of the boomerang, but oh well. If anyone is in the San Fran area and is interested, check craigslist.

Nothing of value to add here... This post really cracked me up though... LOL!!

I DID get outbid on the Bay a couple of days ago for a new set of HP shocks for my Hotshot.. Was priced reasonably well so I bid, and bid, and bid, got to $72 and decided the other guy obviously wanted them more (and won). I will keep my eyes open.
