I used to use a drill. :)

Once I discovered hole reamers, no going back for me. They work perfectly, cause no real danger of messing up the shell, and can be used in a pinch to stab something if need be.

what u guys use to make nice round, clean holes in lexan.?

either a drill or a reamer.

reamer works the best for me since its pretty controllable as compared to a drill that could spin out of its target.

I've never slipped with a drill yet (touch wood) as I start with a very tiny drill at very low rpm and then increase drill size and speed until you get to the magic 6mm or 4mm depending on what your fitting to a shell like mirrors and spoilers etc. :)

I don't have a body reamer yet, but I plan on buying one. For now I use a drill and try to be careful, starting off with a small drill bit and then drilling increasingly larger holes in the same spot. I also always use a wooden block below the part of the body where I drill to make sure I don't mess up the lexan. With Tamiya shells it's not as necessary to be very careful though as with shells from some other brands, like Carson.

And like mentioned before, for a good finish on a shell, use a Dremel - they work absolutely perfect! :)

i hold a drywall screw at the point with some needlenose pliers....take a lighter and heat up the head of the screw....mine came out perfect every time

it punches out a perfect circle....i did this with my rc10 body...you might wanna grab a different size screw for tamiya stuff....
