Hi,Brooklyn Nights.

you're right.on paper the plastic one seems fine.i think the main advantage of an alloy one is durabilty.

the plastic one can crack due to heat from better motors making it brittle.it can strip its threads and worse case..snap and let the motor fly out while running!

to avoid the confusion of the GPM versions, and the random fit and finish,i would whole heartedly recommend the Ta01/2 alloy motor mount made by Pargu2000 on ebay.

i have one of his..EXACTLY the same as the orig.this means if you want the speed tuned gears then its all as per the instructions.

I had both a standard and modified by GPM and neither fitted well at all.in fact the modified was miles out.not for the mesh of the pinion exactly,it was more the fit into the gearbox.this poor fit translated as an angle on the pinion to the spur and it ran tight ...till it mangled the pinion and spur (single run on a sport tuned) :D

incidently the GPM "modified" means it is designed to allow "speed tuned" ratio's with out the speed tuned spur?...on road possibly an ok idea....off road (with bigger diameter wheels) not that great an idea either.

had a look on ebay for Pargu2000 he currently doesnt show listing for his alloy mount...perhaps an "ask seller a question" request and he'll be able to sort you out. pretty sure his mount was 10-15 quid

Thanks for that info. I'll have a look on ebay and as you say maybe ask if he can get a hold of one!

Cheers

Rich
