i was a big fan of the old acid house and rave music back in the late 80's and early nineties (before it got fruity IMO)

anyways i have been hunting down some old tracks - and the hardest thing is knowing what they are called!!

bumped into a friend of mine the other night, who is a DJ and walking encyclopedia of the old rave stuff.

i asked what is that track that says "tick tock bacon" in it

he laughed, but knew exactly what i meant - it's "tickle me, by little little"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7QaMvH-Ir4...feature=related

thing is though, although he recognised it sounds like "tick tock bacon" - he said it is actually saying "tickle tickle"

what do you think? still sounds like tick tock bacon to me

fans of the old amnesia house tapes may remember this one from the legendary frankie bones set from august 1990

if you are reading this, and was/is an old school rave fan - here is a treat for your ears:

^^^ and that is the original, not the wacky carl cox mix. much better i reckon. fat beats!

"Tick Tock Tickle Me" for me although I can see how "bacon" can be heard and I agree as a self confessed Techno-head its a wicked track ;)

tick tock tickol me

But forget that, it is seriously squelchy!

Funny you should mention looking for tracks that you cant remember the name of (or never even knew the name of) I had a tape given to me circa late 83/84 with early hip hop etc on it, and there was one track that stood out on it. I had no idea what it was called, all I could remember was the only lyrics those being

"fish rock" and "asia" I think, but its difficult to tell!

So I eventually found out what it is, after finding it sitting in some unsorted out downloads from direct connect..

And to my oldish ears it still sounds fantastic.

That track is a legendary hiphop joint.

Still sounds fresh today.

I am a bit of an enclyopedia for old school hiphop, and have a monster collection, if you are after something specific.

Naaaafiysh naaaafiysh naaaafiysh ..... just feel it!

I grew up listening to the electro series, and still listen to them today!

In fact right now I am listening to electro 2 while I work - i got 1-20 (+uk, crucials) on shuffle in winamp.

1-10 was the golden era, but 11, 12, 13, 7 and 19 were super good too.

Got a lot of them on vinyl too, in my attic.

Nice was a walkman boy myself so I had tapes, somehow people managed to walk mine away! Managed to track down the mp3 rere of 1-20 so now have em on my ipod -

I have some of 5 as ring tones a bit nerdy but brings a smile to my face :D . Still some tunes later on just I had them from else where rather than streetsounds

You must have some love for shut up & dance, katch 22, etc as well ;)

Could you help my with finding a track that had 'swamp mangrove' in it? I can hear it in my head, but can't remember the name, I had it on a mix tape with some other classics. I have tapes from 81-99 of various music but it seems 83- 85 all traces of hip hop seemed have vanished must be family and friends. :P this is one tune I really want to hear again

 yeah was a raver well in time for the summer of love ;)

Cheers

Thanks for the memories, just spent the last hour or two looking up old dance music on the tube.... I listern to old late 80s / early 90s dance cassettes when i build in my garage. This was my era of music. It had a happy, good feeling vibe to it, everyone was friendly, had a sort of 60s flower power feel.... The good old days. Now days you have to watch your back.....
