Some people have no respect for other peoples stuff and would rather help themselves to it rather than buy / build one themselves

I was at Bug Jam at Santa pod raceway with some mates from college,

Found a large empty tarmac area so was racing around there, It tipped over a few times and passers by were kind enough to turn it back on it's wheels.

That was until some idiot on a bmx stopped to turn it over, but he just picked it up and cycled off!!!!

We did look for it/him, but there are 20,000 people there so needle in a haystack.

It's quite distinctive with the brushless motor and wheelie bar.

I was really annoyed, first time I have ever had any trouble at Bug Jam.

it is unusual so hopefully the thief will try to flog it on or post on a VW forum, so maybe post a 'stolen' on there, someone may know something and/or if it gets sold know its robbed.

the big plus point is that it is so different that it will be easy to identify, esp as its a QD with brushless, which is not that common

good luck with getting it back.

I'd been wondering what to do with the spare 5th (landing gear) channel on some of my radios ... variable pitch rear wing, air brakes, waving driver, something like that.

I guess now I'll add "scuttling charge" to the list of possibilities.

Scuttling charge = small bomb in the bottom of a warship so it can be sunk rather than be captured.

I have another the same but it's almost NIB and in full working order, it would be a shame to strip it, and I am still missing the servo, brushless combo and receiver, and it had the L.E.D's. I so wanted to bring it to Snet.

That's shocking! People like that make my blood boil. The thing is they won't even know how to get it working. So it would be dumped zoom after. A guy I know had his car broken into and they robbed his rc cars along with his tool see.

They kept the tools but the much more valuable cars were just dumped a few hundred yards away.

I hope it turns up and they get what's coming to them.

@qatmix, You are so right dude, the idiot won't even find the on-off switch and he has no transmitter.

The transmitter can be easily replaced, the car was worth more, but he won't know that.

Just saw your post on VZI - thats just ****, we were at Bug Jam on sunday - its gone really downhill. The place looked like a landfill site and the ******* element is getting bigger - I blame water cooled - as my wife said 'there are Vdubbers and there are people that own Vw's' totally different section of people - the guy that nicked your car was just scum, but how do you edit them out? This started back in the 90's when a Bug Jam video was shown on BBC2's Def2 - the year afterwards loads of knobs in XR2's turned up and trashed the place. it never really recovered

I agree, there is a lot of putting down of the watercooled crew on VZI and it's not fair,

Bug Jam is massive so there are bound to be a few idiots, I was just unlucky, could have happened anywhere,

I shall never show prejudice against a section of car owners?, it could have been anyone that done it. Air cooled or watercooled.

I was in my Air cooled beetle, but my mates were in a water cooled Golf.

I hope so, I went there the first year it was at the pod, and it was good, but I have not been for a few years as I usually attend VANFEST the weekend after.

Also Snet is the weekend before Action, so I am hoping to go to Snetterton, Minus my Qd beetle
