After Parcel Farce mucking about for 3 days I have got my mitts on a Thundershot and Manta Ray. Just had a quick look and done some pics :

Thundershot comes with the hop-up wing which is rather nice, but other than that looks same as the original. I have never owned a Manta Ray before so cannot say what might be different. There are disclaimers on the box saying they are re-re's and that some stuff may be different.

Anyone wants me to have a nose into the box further to answer questions, just shout up.

Meanwhile, I should have a pair of Frogs and a Top Force here before Xmas if Parcel Farce don't *** up again [:)]

Cheers,

Roop

Got my Thunder Shot kit today too ! [:D]

Great kit. The old Hop-Up wing is really cool.

But i miss the decals for the wing, which were included in the old Hop-Up wing kit.[:0]

I too got my re-re Thundershot a few days ago[:)]. The inclusion of the wing is a great idea but the lack of wing decals is wee bit dissapointing. Also the wing is now mounted to the back of the body shell with screws, as opposed to the original (and far superior) system where it was mounted to the rear shock tower via an adjustable steel mount.

I haven't built mine yet but at a glance other changes appear to be that the lower suspension arms now have small webs added for extra strength, the decal sheet has a few different sponsors, the motor mounting plate is now silver as opposed the original black. I'm sure there are more but I have to wait till Xmas day to build mine.[:(]

Interesting insight, thanks for that. I haven't delved in to have a look to be honest. I will be building mine though. Shame about that wing mount. I have an original hop-up wing as mentioned, but to be honest it makes the buggy look even uglier...!

I love the way you guys make fun of parcel force. I assume it's a part of Royal Mail. Our Post Office, uSPS, seems to get a lot of teasing too. When someone flips out or goes bananas, we call it going "postal" due to the rash of postal employees that went nuts years ago.

If its anything like the other RERE's the Japan spec kits do not come with ESC/MSC, but when they are released in the uK officially, they come with ESCs as standard

There's no ESC or MSC in the JDM kits. Non JDM kits will prolly get a TEU-101BK. The A5 looks the same, although I never busted one on my old TS so never paid much attention to it TBH.

Yeah, Parcel Force suck sometimes. Get this - it took 3 days for my kits to get from Osaka Japan to Manchester city centre here in the uK. Parce Force then failed to deliver to my aparment by 3 days after that...! BTW, I live less than 2 miles from the Parcel Force depot. Apalling, I know.

3 days doesn't seem that bad in the grand scheme of things.

Consider yourselves lucky you get mail delivered to your door, most people here do not.

Perhaps, but given the amount of money I paid for EMS delivery, it sucks...! The shipping cost was equivalent to the price of another buggy. [xx(]

Interestingly the box art and manual (from TS, MR I didn't buy) aren't really changed compared to other re-releases, the box shows old black 7.2V pack and manual is the original one with MSC installation and old decals and just a loose sheet inside telling all the differences! Also interestingly there is printed sticker on the kit box telling to remove the lexan foil before decalling, did they forget it on the extra sheet? Were the box and manual kept more original for collector reasons, cost saving, or propably both? Here are some more detail pics http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=41517&id=16

Cheers
