kaiser 8 Posted July 29, 2010 i figured i'd post up my b4. specs: factory team kit t4 graphite chassis jconcepts j82 illuzion body novak gtb novak 17.5ss team checkpoint 3600mah 30c 2s hardcase futaba 3pm fm radio 30wt oil in all 4 shocks brown front springs silver rear springs silver (med) rear sway bar proline m3 caliber rear tires proline m3 ribs up front rpm front bumper rpm gear cover geared 29/81 this car is such a joy to drive and race. so smooth, so quiet. it's very consistant, slow is fast with the 17.5 in it. it's too bad that buggy classes are shrinking, it's my favorite class. if you can get good @ 2wd buggy you can race anything. IMHO. i just wanted to share my only non tamiya car.
RichieRich 660 Posted July 30, 2010 Very nice. I love my B4 too. I think it's the easiest buggy for me to drive. I have driven the RB5, GV2 and new Cougar and while they are fantastic, I still like my B4 the most.
kaiser 8 Posted July 30, 2010 thanks. i know what you mean, i have driven a bunch of different vehicles at our local track and i'd take the b4 over all of them.
markbt73 5290 Posted August 1, 2010 I do love Associated buggies. I had an RC10 Team, then a B2, and then a B3. Never got a B4, though I might yet. I just with they still looked vaguely like buggies and not spaceships with wheels.
kaiser 8 Posted August 2, 2010 i had many rc10's back in the day. i nver had a b2 or b3 because i was away from the sport for 17years. i currently have most of the white plastic parts for a worlds black pan car and plan to start gathering parts to do a runner build. i took the b4 out to the track for some pratice on sunday, i changed up the gearing and it flies. i also ordered a 8.5t novak ballistic motor for it. i doubt i'll run that motor at all this year but it gives me some room to grow. on sunday during practice we had the only associated cars there, everyone else was running traxxas and they quickly learned that that were grossly outclassed by the b4. a guy kept asking me how he could get his bandit to handle as well as the b4. i said sorry bub i don't think you can. that brings up another point; people are always saying that traxxas car are so tough and that associated cars break more often, i have found the exact opposite. i haven't broken once and all the breaking seems to happen to the traxxas cars/trucks. i still love my tamiya's but when it comes to racing rc10's FTW! Miggers 1 Posted August 14, 2010 sure, i'll do it when i get home tonight and post it for you.total lenght with ball ends right? Lo there kaiser, yeh that,d be good. I can guestimate the length of the shafts themselves from that. Needing some turnbuckles for my latest homebuilt so I'm looking around to see what'll fit. I need 45mm for the uppers, but a hooje 80mm for the steering links, all with 2.5-3.0mm threads. Cheers,Mark
kaiser 8 Posted August 16, 2010 hey mate, i didn't get a chance to measure as my wife was in a car accident friday evening. (she's ok, it just messed up our weekend pretty bad) i'll be sure to get it done tonight.
Miggers 1 Posted August 16, 2010 hey mate, i didn't get a chance to measure as my wife was in a car accident friday evening.(she's ok, it just messed up our weekend pretty bad) i'll be sure to get it done tonight. Sheeeeeeit!!! Not wrote off your 10B4 I hope!! Seriously though bud, good to know she's ok. What's your ride like though?is it repairable or totalled? Don't worry too much about those measurements,do 'em when you get time. Make sure your Boss is all a-ok(car crash injuries can manifest themselves a few days later) and get the insurance claim for your ride well underway. All the best matey,Mark
kaiser 8 Posted August 25, 2010 2.62 inches or 66.7 mm vernier calipers help get it exact.
Miggers 1 Posted August 25, 2010 2.62 inches or 66.7 mm vernier calipers help get it exact. Cheers kaiser, bit too long for the top links and too short for the steering links, rats. Looks like I'll have to persuade the machine shop at work to buy an LH thread die-nut and get them to make me some up. Cheers,Mark
