MiniManiac 1 Posted February 19, 2003 Hi again you lot! So simply is, that i got a differential that has been super glued to make it direct drive. There has to be a way of removing it without the plastic metlting or snapping the teeth. You just cant buy these any more. ta Rich
mr_lister999. 3 Posted February 19, 2003 you can get superglue debonder which makes it sort of rubbery but still needs alot of work to actually remove it. Still, it may get it loose and its not expensive. Comes in handy when you stick your fingers to something. Thats what they use in hospital if you glue your fingers together. Blitzerguy 0 Posted February 19, 2003 If you soak it in very hot water, it normally comes unstuck, but there is a chance you might melt the plastic if the water is too hot. I don't know how hot you can get the plastic before it melts, I've never tried it on plastic, only wood and metal.

WillyChang 1814 Posted February 19, 2003 What diff is it for, Rich? Some diff plastics are nylon and can withstand acetone. Some others can't. Also, what is glued to what? If you are able to knock the innards out (superglue will often let go under sharp hard impact), then dip just the metal bits into acetone.
