hi all

two weeks in a row i have taken my hotshots to park and both times ive had failures

i keep loosing front drive axles

the orig hothsot has been upgraded to new rere shafts but im not sure if i changed the inner and out cups

im sure ive read they are diff from orig to rere

whats the easiest way to tell as ive bought axles off ebay for the rere and they said they r for rere and stil im loosing axles on full lock when it flips

basically on both orig and rere when car goes fast round coners on grass it flips and cartwheels and this slams

front wheels full lock one way and the axles pop out and in grass u rarley find em again

they just go to fast for playing round and are so light and unstable they flip

and today the rere lost a shaft so i kept driving in 2wd mode which im sure made moto spin muh faster and it stopped

so either esc or motor is gone

im getting sick of repairing them all the time

i guess ill just fit orig motors back in them and put them in storage till the toddlers grow up

ive spent way to much on them to sell on ebay for 100 bucks

cant even have fun with thm anymore

The rear dogbones are slightly longer than the front ones. Try a pair of the rear dogbones in the front. Check that there's no binding. That might be enough to stop them popping out.

You could also try the other steering knuckles that are in the kit. Those 'bent' ones are actually the ones the original car uses. The Boomerang and Hot Shot 2 use the later TA01 style ones with the straight steering arm like the ones in the re-re kit, and they also use the same longer dogbone at the back of the car on the front.

I thought it was a bit odd that the re-re Hot Shot included 2 pairs of the original steering knuckles, and also includes that TA01 knuckles and tells you to use those.

Using black rubber O-rings or sponge discs in the drive cups might help keep the dogbones better located in the cups.

Sorry to here your problems.

The Hot shots are still good performers with a good set up.

What you are experiancing is traction roll. Too much grip on grass. and the suspension is limited at the best. ( nearly bald front tires will help)

A HP set up would help especially with better springs to tune to grass driving.

As for finding lost drive shafts simply paint them a bright colour like yellow as this really helps to find in grass.

The Motor and esc is a totally different matter. If it locked up dont leave the throttle on or you will blow the esc up for sure. Maybe somthing went wrong inside the transmission. Or motor locked up due to dirt and etc. Can happen to any buggy.

You can change the front drive shafts to yeah racing cvd axles but requires new re re drive cups and gearbox housing to do so. I have done this all my Shots based buggys..

Hope this helps.

The Rere has rc channel suspension and the orig has theNhp suspension

Rere has very good motor

Orig has good motor

I'll tie the shafts and that will fix one prob

Thanks forthe ideas
