Hi guys, I drilled a couple of holes in my new Lambourghini Body Shell by mistake (DOH!!) and would now like to have any suggestions if there is a way to fill these in at all?

Many thanks, and help or suggestions would be fab, i'm gutted!

You cant really fill the holes on a lexan shell. The best thing to do is place decals over where you drilled the holes to cover them up.

If it were my shell, i would cut a couple of small pcs of lexan and glue on the underside and then fill the holes with some filler and then put a solid sticker over it, that way you wont see a depression over the holes.

Cheers

If its an ABS shell then fibreglass and filler, managed to repair the entire front end of my king blackfoot with Fastglas GRP and p38 easy sand filler.

If it's lexan, then get some off cuts and glue it underneath, and put a stick on it!

hi Malakite,

i missed updating your last thread.

looking at the countach it does seem that the front and rear have two potential body post places.very cruel they werent pre drilled for you.

as for covering the front ones its a bu66er of a place innit?

for lexan what about trying to get 6mm circles of scrap lexan paint them the body colour and place them on abit of that aluminium tape stuff tamiya do.

then stick the tape from the inside so the circles sit in the holes? as mentioned you could put stickers over this so it would appear flush on the surface.

i was thinking of doin this as the antena hole on the roof wont be used as i have a tt01 (non E version) and the aerial straw goes up from the back.middle of the rear gearbox.

i got the body holes pre cut...but i got an aerial hole pre cut too..an its a big hole! :o

If you have a spare bit of scrap clear decal ,you can paint the decal with a light coat of the same colour the body was/is painted[if you have any left?],then when it is dry just cut a couple of circles out and stick them over the holes, works well for the reverse body mounts on the Tam Tech Gear cars which is where i got the tip,i have used it to hide bigger holes to good effect.

I know what you mean, the holes the body shell instructions state to drill in the roof for the antenna are 6mm!! You only really need 3mm at most! Ridiculous!

Thanks for the tip, but surely you'd still still see a thin line round the edge as I'd never be able to cut neat perfect circles from a lexan shell that would fit flush - or am I missing a special tip on how to cut these??

Put " ROLSON COMPASS CIRCLE HOLE CUTTER " into an auction search engine and have a look at what i use with the painted decal method, perfect circles every time, yes you can see an edge if you look really close, but well good enough to fool the eye/camera from many angles, cheap and simple fix, honest :o

Victorious Secret gets a plug for this tip :D

Have a peek in his showroom,

many thanks!

top tip and lovely cars too!

the idea of trying to cut a circle with scissors is the main reason i havnt tried to cover the aerial hole...i know mine would look more like a 50p peice than a circle! :o

forgot to add.on your other thread bout the posts themselves,Willy Chang had an idea about the mounts from a TA05 going on the bumper part.it would use your existing holes?
