hi all

I have a b6 type charger which i use for charging lipo batteries but i want to charge some NIMH batteries 3800mah. my question is this what Amp should i charge at and for how long (does the b6 type of charger stop when battery full like with my lipos?)

as long as it supports the battery type then its 1C for an hour (believe thisis the term), which is 3.8Amp for an hour.

if you has 1800Mah then it would be 1.8Amp for an hour and likewise for the others.

hi yes it supports loads of battery types nicd nimh lipo life etc

hi there i too have a b6, im old school and not moved over to lipo, although i have charged them for friends, yeh just do as homer says, if its a 3800mah pack then charge at 3.8 amps.

With NiMh I would discharge it first and you have that feature to select the amperage to discharge to a minimum voltage, in this instance, minimum 1v per cell. If you want to charge at 1C just check the temperature after about 1/2 hour. I usually charge at about 0.7-0.8C as I find the battery too hot for my liking at 1C.

Then select the D/C feature and it will do all in one go i.e. discharge at the said amperage to the set voltage and then charge at your desired amperage to capacity.

i charge mine at 5amps on the bc6,ive never had any problems with battery life,on my much more charger i charge them at 6 amps and have have no issue's.
