now getting into my late 30's and having a young son i go up in the loft to find some of my stuff from my younger days ,,,and i stumble across my old lunchbox and pumpkin..these are looking in a bit of a state so im going to set about fixing these up for me little fella,,,so i guess ill be asking for plenty of help from you all to get these back workng....so ill say sorry now for all the silly questions that will follow in the next few weeks......danboy

lunchies are a pretty easy truck to get back in good shape. It was re-released a couple of years ago so parts are easy to get your hands on.

also found a motor up there its a schmacher gold nova havent got a clue which one it came out of or if it was from the lunchie or pumpkin....ill get some snaps up soon of the wrecks...

only 30 odd ! your a young pup then , since a work accident made me retire early at 49 , i decided i wasnt going to just sit and watch the soapies on the idiot box all day and night . being from a mechanical trade , i turned to my teen day love or r/c cars .. now i rescue old and abused r/c cars to keep me amused .. trouble is i live by the old motto '' MODIFIY OR DIE '' ..lol have fun and if your other half whinges , tell her its for the kid ! ...

But don't tell the kid that. My son somehow take over some of my models. I buy them for me then suddenly he refere to them as he's. He got 3 models this way.

I was recently re-introduced to RC after perusing Ebay. When I was a young guy in the mid 80's, my first car I bought was a Striker (gasp). I built the car and then realized I would never have enough money to buy the rest of the goodies to make it run

Anyway, bought a re-re Frog, a friend donated an old Blackfoot to me (which needed way too much work) and I turned it in to a real basher of a Frog. I have now recently completed a build of a CR-01 and am enjoying every minute of it. Wallet is much lighter though.

my first car I bought was a Striker (gasp).

i too bought a striker, back in 1987. it was my second car. i had sold my commodore 64, and gone to the model shop with the spoils to buy a subaru brat. but the striker had just been released and the guy behind the counter said i should get that one.

ooh boy was i suckered. only lasted a few weeks before the chassis snapped.

well today i started with the pumpkin to see what parts i will be needing it looks all there but has no body posts ,,,anyone no where i could find a set

need to get it all in one bit before i start the mods

looks like you need "E parts" you can find them on ebay for $8

a little update well the mp is now running sorted the stering probs out ,i got a second hand chrome shell for now as the old one was smashed to bits.

had a little blast round the front room now have a big grin on my face..

time to start the mods.

as im not to good at finding things on the net(go round and round for hours). im going to start with new dampers and fit the 3rd shock..is there any chance someone could list all the parts i will need to do it.

also while hunting the loft again i found my old mini cooper and thats also in a bad state..so stuck that back up there till i get the pupkin and lunchbox sorted...

my son also started sticking hes nose in and wanted to have a play,,,,,so i went out and got him hes own car (hes not playing with daddys toys lol)...so he now has a mavrick strada mt.

update time...

ive striped the lb down to start all the mods (orderd new oil filled shocks).then gets a email a week latter to say they dont have any and they dont no when they will be getting anymore in..so thats that on hold..

so i pack up the mp and the maverick and take them to the caravan so me and the kids can have some fun on the beach....

so i gets the mp out and have a blast on the grass outside the van while the wife unloads the car,,,,so i have 5mins of fun and bang the front wishbone snaps ,thats the end of my fun.

the kids start banging on they want to have a play(what they think the cars are for them)..so gets the maverick out for the youngest girl she has a blast up and down the road..yay we still have one car working...then splash she drives into the bigest puddle she can find and that was the end of that..

so now down to no working cars grrrrrr
