Just finished building my new Rere D/S.

The problem i have is when you tighten the rear wheel nuts there is a lot of binding. Its built to the instructions which says narrow hub set up. It seems the drive hex is rubbing on the hub carrier.

Anyone else had this problem.?????

OOhhhh. Just found out why. I didn't put the e clips on the axles. Just built it like any other rear end.

My Fault. Sorry Mr Tamiya.

Thanks.

Hey Mark, you should REALLY consider putting an extra brace on the rear D parts, there is one on the front of the pivot rods but they really need one on the rear aswell, i've broken 2 sets and thats not from abuse, if you get these things into a cartwheel they'll break every time..

Mine cartwheeled many times already, at high speeds too, and although I don´t have a rear brace, I never had a problem with them. I use the Nimrod Racing suspension blocks and check regularly if the screws are becoming looser or not. It happened only once, by a tiny bit, so I immediately tightened them again. I know a rear brace on the rear suspension blocks might be good, but I wouldn´t say that you need one badly if you keep the the screws tight and check them regularly B)

Thanks guys.

I gave a brief test run today and love how smooth this buggy is too drive.

It has Pro line ribed tyres in M3 up front with J Cocepts Goose Bumps at the rear. Apart from that all stock with Black body shell. Dyed wheels like EVO, ( don'y ask me how i fluked that but have the dye on record for future) Same orange as the Dyna Storm decals. Chromed out windows and rear wing side flaps. Looks So good.

On its first run with the motor in kit ( Pink) it felt like a R/S motor not a 14t i thought it was. Diff was slipping a little so will play with it a little. Man i love this thing. By far the best Tamiya i have felt so far. The Sleeved Dampers are truly soo smooth.

Thanks so much for all advice.

Just make sure your slipper is always set looser than your diff and it will give you years of trouble-free enjoyment...

If you don't know how to check, feel free to ask...

Thanks but i do know but ran out of time.

Its built to what the instructions said and the diff does feel rather tight so i will be adjusting the MDC next. It was on grass too so will wait to do it on the vintage track.

What wind motor is it???

Thanks.

Both the re-re and the original have a 14T motor. However, the one of the re-release is not rebuilable, and unlike the original, it has copper bushings instead of ball bearings. The last thing may make it a less efficient motor, but I'm not sure. I did hear the same from others though, that it feels a tad slow with the standard motor despite it being 14T. Perhaps it has something to do with the gearing or the weight of the car? :)

Yep its slow alright.

I have to say its more like a 20t motor.

Gearing seems Ok but was maxed out rather quick on grass. Im going to put in a good 19t i say.

The weight , funny you say that as this is no feather weight. In fact i think its heavier than my Big Pig. LOL.

Just weighed it its 1560g with a Li Po battery , LRP Quantum2 Comp speedie and a micro RX. So its not light.

Yes you are rigth it's a "stone", by today standards.....

But don't try to make it lighter or you will never see it turning. :P

In that case I´m curious what my Dyna Lightning will handle like  once or if I get those final few parts that is :( (rear shock tower, front bumper and some misc bits). Well, one nice thing about the lightness of the Dyna Lightning is that you can then play with some balancing weights here and there, possibly compensating the loss of weight on the front (I found out that an AA battery fits perfectly between in the Nimrod front bumper between the suspension arms - I'm going to make a lead weight soon in that shape to see how it will affect the Dyna's handling :)

My Nimrod rear blocks broke the 2nd time i drove the car, and no, the screws were not loose! i still need to send you that pic of the broken parts, i will definitely be bracing mine, its chep insurance, it cant possibly happen again if i brace it..

Well on mt first outting i didn't even get one lap in.

No breakages but had a range issue with my new rx.

Just replaced it tonight and all is good.

One thing while trying to get the slipper right with no diff slip was a little more tricky than others iv'e done.

The diff has been tighten to almost fully to stop the diff slip. i have now got the slipper slipping for the first 5 mtrs now and diff has no slip.

I will back the diff a little more as i feel its a little tight in action for our loose surface.

Is this common onthe diff or you just run the slipper realy loose????

Thanks.
