The red LED just keeps flashing constantly all the time, it's a nightmare because i've read the instructions nside and out and there i no diagnosis for this, it simply says the first time you try and set it the light should flash once!!

Any ideas guys? Thanks as always!

On the 101, flashing LED meant no signal.

So, check the wiring from the receiver and power, check the transmitter, check you don't have any unusual modes set up (I had this issue when I had my transmitter set to PCM for a PPM receiver).

Read the manual carefully. You need to do the set procedure correctly, which includes setting both end points pressing the buttom WHILE holding the transmitter at the given position. Otherwise the ESC will not catch the input.

Err but the LED red light still constantly flashes and nothing else happens B)

Any further suggestions??!

I had the same with the 101 also. It turned out that i had the wrong crystal in the transmitter, wrong band. Worked after that.

I have tried and tried and to no avail, so weird! I connected the motor and noticed the speed controller started beeping as if to say there was no connection with the transmitter yet I have tested the transmitter with another car and crystal and it works fine, I even swapped crystals into the receiver for the TEU but still no good.

I'm really stuck with this one B)

Is your battery fully charged? The 104 has a low voltage cut off, which it's predecessor, the 101, didn't. Battery should be over 6,6 volts

Constant non stop flashing.

Battery FULLY charged.

Brand new not wet at all.

Receiver is brand new and so is the speed controller!

Does the steering servo working while ESC is flashing? (or beeping while the motor is plugged in). It sounds like you don't have the Red 2 pin BATT plug from the ESC plugged to the reciever.

The steering works fine and when the motor is plugged in the ESC does beep yes, and the light constantly flashes!

Confused about the 'red' wire though as its definitely plugged into the receiver.

For the avoidance of doubt Mark was referring to the wire from the speedo with the 2-pin red plug (with red and black wires) - this needs to go into the BATT socket on the receiver. This is in addition to the 3-pin signal wire (with white, red and black wires) from the speedo that plugs into channel 2 of the receiver.

Just a thought - have you got the plugs the right way around into the receiver? The black wire should be towards the outside of the receiver case.

According to the manual, the ESC will flash in the described way when it is in programming mode. Are you sure that have finished the set-up procedure? Did you get double flashing ** ** ** ** ** during the set-up, or has the ESC been constantly flashing the same way????

Jammer - yes the Black wire is facing the edge of the receiver.

The steering servo is in Channel 1, if I put it into channel 2 I have to steer with the throttle?!!..

Mike_o - Yes the ESC just keeps on flashing the same constant flashing no matter what I do :)

I had the same symptoms when I blew a TEU101 up - hope it hasn't happened to you :)

Hi, the thing is, its NEVER BEEN USED! It's brand new out of the packet!

The ESC has 2 plugs that go into the reciever. In all you should have 3 slots filled on the reciever. Ch1 for steering servo, Ch2 for ESC, and BATT for ESC. The ESC will flash (and it will beep with a motor plugged) without the 2 pin connector in the reciever's BATT plug.

I think Malakite must have connected the wires correctly. Otherwise the servo wouldn't work.

OK I have a VERY embarrassing confession to make, I'm not gonna lie to you all, one of the wires was stuck under the ESC after I had taped it down and I did'nt even see it! Once I taped it up it works fine!

On another annoying front though I ordered the special body shell mounts for my body from Tony's Tamiya parts, waited ages, then he emailed to say he had made a mistake with the listing! ;) DOH I now have to wait longer and re-order from someone else, this project has now taken me over 2 years (mainly due to lack of time with a lovely boy we have!)

Thanks as always for all of your help and although I've been VERY stupid, at least its fixed now! :D
