Lol good point!

I am going to make a separate saving account just so I can occasionally purchase Tamiya kits in my retirement!

All my NIB's are retirement kits well thats the plan anyways.

My dream is in my old age to get a shopping cart and go shopping in my own house elevator music playing as well so I choose a kit to build purley on the music playing kinda like an impulse buy.

But my eldest son visited us the last weekend and saw the kits and said next time I come down I will bring post-its notes stick on labels and write my name on the kits I want ....Maybe I will have to have an early retirement.

I think you will find Retro-rc (Darryn) has the same dream (Maybe not the shopping cart) but the retirement build dream.

Stuart.

Mine won't take long to list!

My first ever was my TA-01 Lancia Delta Integrale, way back when I was sweet 16. And my only other is the SuperClod I bought last year. It feels like I've built more, the amount of times some of them have been rebuilt!

1991-1995

1 LunchBox

2 Hornet

3 Blackfoot

4 Mud Blaster - built for my buddy

5 ClodBuster

6 Hi-Lux Monster Racer

7 RC10

Took a little break and then go back into RC because of Ebay, didn't build much back than as I was collecting and was not sure what to do with all the NIB's? Then Tamiya started doing the re-re's and I started building again.

1999-Current

8 Lightning x3

9 Cobra

10 Midnight Pumpkin

11 Hummer

12 RC10T3

13 Super Shot

14 Mud Blaster

15 Wild Willy 2 Metallic

16 Hornet re-re

17 Brat re-re

18 LunchBox re-re

19 Frog re-re

20 Toyota Hi-Lift

21 Hotshot re-re

Others I've restored or built out of parts

Brat

Frog - (took a long time when I was 13 tracking down all these parts... kind of why the Frog is special to me)

Fox

Falcon

RC10T

Can't wait to get to the next one, either a Grasshopper or Buggy Champ re-re or a convereted HotShot re-re to HotShot II to complete my Shot collection.

Even though this is TAMIYACLUB, I am still surprised at just how many people have a 100% Tamiya history, and how few have a wide selection of chassis (most of us racers I suspect).

Tamiya really does have a unique position in RC.

Looks like you must be due for another Clod Buster Robert!!!

Haha, spot on James. Looking back, I have bought a Clod chassis truck in each decade so far (80's, 90's, and 00's),been thinking of getting another Clod or Super Clod (for a project), just have not pulled the trigger (yet).... Maybe a birthday or christmas present in the near future.

Did you slap him and say "Nothing with adhesive goes anywhere near my kits son, do you want to be excluded from the will?!" :D

Build a replica of your old Bully pull truck Rob, you know you want to, I know you want to, dont fight the urge... ;)

Hmmm, my list is quite dismal

I started out in '87 with Tamiya's, but didn't build an NIB until:

'92ish Lunchbox

'99 TL01 Evo 4

'09 Lunchbox re-re

'09 M03 Mini

'10 Knight Hauler FOK

'10 Semi trailer

'10 TXT-1

'10 Subaru Brat re-re

Disappointing... ;) I hope to make up for it soon

I also got thinking today whether this thread might pull out someone who may have built one or 2 kits but had amassed dozens of kits on the "To Do List" with the intention of building in the distant future... I'm guessing there are a few people who aren't thinking of investment by hanging onto NIB's or enjoy just looking at NIB's but rather saving it up to build as a nostalgic trip down memory lane years from now... Anyone here queueing up the kits as a retirement project?

I have over 40 vintage rc buggies now and just bought another shelf to display them. ( Statrted 2 yrs ago) All are on display in my Hobby room.

I would like to think that i can play with all my buggys when i retire. Maybe start a rc savings account before i retire. If my partner gets hold of my wages again i will see nothing like i did for 2 yrs when she did have all my wages .

I want all my collection to be finshed (restored and running). A double lock up shed will be built by than i hope.

That will be at least 50 runners. Should keep me happy i say.

Good point about us racers. My list shows what was bought/built for racing and for bashing (and pulling ;) )...

Wow, you are a mind reader (get out of my brain :D ). That would be the only Clod project I would do, a puller replica ;)
