Well here i am... thousands of miles away from home in a land full of sand and other nastey people that dont stand and fight, rather leave things burried in the ground.

Good old sat internet to keep in contact with the lovely wife and surfing the net when bored and nothing to do..... Well the collection is growing.

1 x RR Sand Scorcher kit.

1 x Wild One. Looks to have been built from a NIB kit and driven once indoors. As the buggy doesnt have one scratch on the underside and my wife tells me everything is new on it.

1 x CC01 MU kit, should be on its way from the states. (Have alloy upgrades on the way as well. Going to make this a scaler.)

2 x scale chassis with tamiya hilux bodys to go on them. One for the wife and one for myself.

There is a few other little things as well. Needed upgrade parts for the wife's scaler as she says... :)

I think I will be building well into next year. I might have to stop looking at evilbay and put a perant lock on myself!

Please tell me Im not alone and is there way to stop? lol

Cheers,

Rob.

Of course you are not ... it is not just EvilBay tempting you to the darkside, but DarthTC as well.

You have to change you 'bay' password ... close you eyes before you type ... put you palm down on your keyboard, check you have put down the correct number of digits, ... then hit enter ...

Then do not go back to the 'bay' and stay clear from DarthTC as well.

at least you are doing a proper job for humanity ... :)

Tell me about it - I succumbed to another impulse buy this afternoon (http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58351 :)

In fact, I reckon 50% of my cars have been completely impulsive purchases, 33% have been with little thought, and only 17% could be described as "planned".

As for stopping ... unless it gets you jailed, divorced, or fired, it's not an addiction - it's a _hobby_ :)

Phase 1 buy everything you like; than upgrade them with every available options

Phase 2 which to build and run, build only / shelf queen, keep as NIB

Phase 3 too much on hand... which one for sale and which one to keep to find tune your collection

Phase 3 is very much depends on your bank account and available space and keeping interest in this hobby also a big factor.

You can't fight the force young skywalker. Only through meditation and mind control by studying Budda will you be able to control your mind and control your purchase through proper planning and your collection will stable.

Other school of thoughts are buy, built and run, and sell and the process begans again.

Hi!

Nope and nope! ;)

You're not alone and you can't stop!

There is tiny waves of digital "you must buy" massages coming thru the coputerscreen into your brain.

It makes you addicted. Buy once and you're hooked! :(

As someone said, only way out is divorce, jail, fired or get you hands cut of...

Where did you find a woman like that I want to know!!! I am always at constant odds, with explanations to get my need to purchase through, when in fact there is no other reason except that I just want it ...

Worried about kids taking after his/her dad? Nah ... imagine ... you could take hints and pointers from TA-Mark about building a track in your garden and you will always have more than just 2 cars on the track ... simply priceless ...

Well I just got told this morning the postman dropped off the MU kit and the bearing kit I ordered for it as well.

Adam, trust me mate this is no beach holiday! Still no baby yet, I think its scared to come out! Belinda is doing well. I get into trouble now if the mailman doesnt drop anything off. She took the slash out for another run this morning. She got worried at the speed of it with the 8.4v batt. I told her when i get home it will be running 11.1v lipos...

Cheers for the comments guys.

Well, as said lots of times earlier here, i am also afraid, there´s no way out of the ebay-addiction, but making place for more toys is rather easy. Simply begin stacking the darn things, LOL. :(

Also, stay alert and safe in the sand, look out for you and your mates, so you all can go home to your families again.

Oh, and best wishes to you, your wife and your baby, whenever he/she dares to show up.

Cheers..

Michael

When that no longer works, get a bigger house. :(

Seriously though there is no hope for you. Most guys have the handbrake applied by the other half but if she is into RC as well then you have the major restraint put aside. On the upside you can use her cars when yours break (or use them for parts).

I used to joke that I was addicted to this hobby & ebay, now I just think it's a fact!!! I have friends telling me I need to go to ebay anonymous. I show signs of slowing down occasionally then all of a sudden I'm back into it again(as soon as I think I've got a good pay coming). Already had to refinance the house earlier this year due to my spending & coming close to needing another bailout if I don't stop soon. Good luck!!
