Hi folks,

I know this sort question has been asked before, but the only real answer was Tamiya Sport tuned - has anyone used anything else so I can broaden my search.

Cheers,

Darren

you can use many of the adjustable timing mod motors as long as you set the timing to zero.

theres a vid on youtube of a racing clod with twin checkpoint 12t motors, it flies.

you'll need a novak super duty or similar esc to handle a pair like that.

personally i can't wait for someone to come out with a twin brushless system.

You can advance the timing on modified motors, but have to make sure that one motor is advanced, and the other one retarted, both in equal amounts.

I would suggest getting 550 motors (540 with a little internal fan, but rated at 12V) and using more powerful battery packs. (8.4 / 9.6V)

Cheers guys,

I've got a no limit esc (ripmax - I think) do you think it would run two 550 motors like these? and would two of these be suitable with regards to timing etc? :

(ebay link buhleted)

Cheers so far,

Darren

550 motors are much longer than 540s- I don't think they'll fit in between the gearbox & suspension without modification

I found when I upgraded the motors in my Super Clod that, yes, it was a bit faster (but not that much, considering I put in a pair of 17Ts), but without upgrading the suspension and steering, all it really did was make it fall over a lot more B) / :D

I would agree with Johnny retro, the 550s won't fit in a standard clod. I forgot about this when posting my last comment, my clod is heavily modified so fitting the 550s was not a problem. If you are using it on rough ground or giving a lot of abuse, you will probably end up breaking things faster. Cheapest way to go faster has got be more cells though. An 8.4v or 9.6v pack will give you a signficant power increase withou replaving the motors. Re you question about speedos, I run a txt-1 with 2 23turn motors on an 8.4v battery without any problems, and this a heavier model than the clod.

The ripmax no limit ESC's are great and they can run two 13 turn venom motors no problem and seeing as the venom fireball's are set at 0deg as std and go from 10turn upto 55 turn there great motors for clod's
