berman 5315 Posted September 9, 2010 Agreed... Booo on the British baked-bean civic, the ugliest of all civics. An EF9, an EK9, an FD2, heck even an ugly EP3, but not that monstrosity! /wrists
berman 5315 Posted September 9, 2010 And the JDM car has the proper K20A from the CL7 Accord Euro Type R, the Euro one has a lower spec engine. The FD2 K20A is slightly different again from the Euro R's K20, but please dont confuse the english Accord's badged Type R with the CL7 euro R, that's a whole other can of worms I also see your (AU) import laws are getting a little more flexable with what you can bring in and the prices aren't as high as they used to be which is a good thing
94eg! 834 Posted September 10, 2010 FAIL! WIN! WIN! Too bad the latter two bodies are both phenomenally expensive and impossible to find (and not Tamiya).
94eg! 834 Posted September 10, 2010 On the plus side, the Honda HSV-010-GT will be sweet. This has been my desktop wallpaper ever since I heard of it. Too bad it won't fit any chassis that don't have the inboard front suspension. Might be a good reason to pick up the full TA05-V2 kit..

We run only Super GT bodies on F103GTs,just did a 1000 lap race with them.

We've never had a Type R Accord of any kind in Australia. But unfortunately, while I'd love to bring in a CL7, it's still too expensive and too much of a pain in the proverbial to grey import cars into Australia. I'll stick with my CL9 Lux. About the only way to bring one in privately is as a personal import, if you've owned the car overseas for at least 12 months, and lived overseas. I sooo wish Tamiya would do a CL7 Euro R bodyshell... - James
GreatDane 70 Posted October 4, 2010 Hi guys Pics are up on the Tamiya website - Mmm, almost....uhmmm, well sort of.... : http://www.tamiya.com/japan/hobbyshow/news1010/news1.htm
WW-nut 0 Posted October 4, 2010 So the stripped down TRF201 is called a DN-01. And if you super-zoom on the photo it has a new bodyshell.
Jumpinugly 0 Posted October 4, 2010 To top my list... Without a doubt the Vodaphone McLaren F104 and Emerson Fittipaldi's 1/12th scale McLaren M23. The ebay prices on the M23 have gotten way out of control. Hopefully there's a photoetch set with it. I wish they'd go back to some more Mid 70's F1 rc kits. The Wolf WR1 was a wonderful surprise. No to mention the Lotus 79. My dream car would be James Hunt's 1976 McLaren M23 on an F104W chassis Thanks for the info!

Origineelreclamebord 45 Posted October 14, 2010 That Tamiya Zahhak looks awful A real wrong combination of old and straight lines and the new modern curves. Absolutely horrid! Anyway, I see that the budget TRF201 will be called the DN-01?

Anyway, I see that the budget TRF201 will be called the DN-01? the zahhak is the cheap 201 right? yes its a freak show. who would buy that car looking like that. first mod would have to be a TRF201 shell and non pink wheels! TWINSET 1793 Posted October 14, 2010 first mod would have to be a TRF201 shell and non pink wheels! The 70s kimono paintjob's not so great, but I don't think the shape's that bad Apparently, zahhak is Klingon for 'nice legs, shame about the face'

Actually, the bright and almost fluorescent pink colours are very nice imo You just need to combine them well - for example with other fluorescent-ish colours (Super Astute) or with Black The 70s kimono paintjob's not so great, but I don't think the shape's that badApparently, zahhak is Klingon for 'nice legs, shame about the face' I think the shape is at least as bad as the paintjob They tried to make a solid, wide and tough looking shell on it, while you can clearly see that the wing and chassis were made for narrow, curved and streamlined looking shells. It reminds me of the Baja King, and to me, that is a reasonable benchmark to compare with the Ugliness of Traxxas shells (except for the Summit shell, that's not too bad)
mb_c11 0 Posted October 14, 2010 That bodyshell is shaped like a cardboard box that someone stepped on
bad andy 6 Posted October 14, 2010 I dunno, maybe it will look better with better paint? What the badword is a ZakHak anyway? And there's no room for a cool Tamiya-esque slogan on that wing either!
Top Force Racer 3 Posted October 14, 2010 The body shell might look better with some side window netting, but I agree that this is pretty ugly. And what's up with the name? Isn't Zahhak an evil figure in Persian mythology?
blakeatron 16 Posted October 14, 2010 I like it! What is it with wanting things to scale and 'design' perfect - its a cool easy chassis with a fun body, top bashing if you ask me!

Isn't Zahhak an evil figure in Persian mythology? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zahhak And the Levant is named after some area around or in Israel... I think that Zahhak actually doesn't sound like a bad name - but I think that no matter how deeply evil an evil figure may be, he would never be so evil to make us cry out loud with his appearance like this car does... An evil figure is unlikely to dress up it pink, too, but lets call that a diference in interpretation Sorry, I just can't stop nagging about it
taliesin 260 Posted October 15, 2010 Actually, paint that buggy in Falcon colors and it would look like a Falcon re-re IMHO. The original was boxy and kinda similar.
Keyser Soze 0 Posted October 15, 2010 I actually like the Zahhak!! I'm not into buggy, but it's oriented to a more realistic design, at least. And the paint job isn't so bad, bad is the way in which the decals were applied on the window glass...
