Can anone shed any light on what these are from? the Black one is marginally(less than a mm)bigger than the white one. additional photo added

I know that the TRF201 has a reinforced set of gears being released, and those are black :P But the holes for the diff balls are further outside on that, plus it would be highly unlikely for you to have a part before it's release :P

Can you provide a picture that shows the width of the gears as well? ;) It's hard to guess it right now, but I think it's not Tamiya actually... :)

Looks like KYOSHO. Looks a lot like the RB5's diff gear.

I think it´s too old to be from an RB5 - Like on many of today's ball diffs, the balls are as far to the outside as possible - probably to increase the number of balls that fits in and therefor the pressure it can withstand, and maybe even to aid balance and keeping the unit straighter (because the pressure points are further outward, any difference in size, alignment etc will be smaller on the end of the outdrive).
