Hey folks, im thinking of getting another 3 channel radio gear set for my three speeds so i dont have to keep swapping them over. Really cant get my head around the trigger style transmitters so i think the only other ones they do with the twin joystick are the 5 and 6 channel. They look pretty good, but just wondered if anyone had any experience of them, as they are alot cheaper than say Futaba and Acoms. Any advice greatfully received

Thanks guys

I have a DX5e and I love it. Good feel, good range, easy to set up. No multi-model memory, but I don't miss it. The only thing I don't like is the cost of extra receivers, but that's true of most 2.4 systems.

My only personal experience with Spektrum is that off the DX3S, which was as plastic as the toy space-laser-guns I had as kid back in the 1980s when compared to the Futaba I normally use. Having said that, Spektrum makes great stuff. If you have threespeeders in the 1/14 semi tractor truck range you may want to know that Spektrum does not work with their MFU.

If you want a cheap quality alternative with reasonably cheap receivers:

Futaba 4YF 2.4GHz Sport FHSS

It is a basic low-end radio but still quality stuff.
