What a good brush motor to replace stock 540S motor. Man that motor runs slow. LOL. Im running a esc that can handle down to 13 turns and running with nickle metal batteries.

I have a 17 turn in mine and it goes like a rocket. One thing to consider is your ESC and how many forward amps it has. Wimpy ESC= Wimpy acceleration

Why would you get more power from a nimh?

I agree with Grunt here. My 2400 niCd's feel like they have way more punch than any of my NiMh batteries.

Why would you get more power from a nimh? Nevermind the fact that the OP said he is running with nimhs anyway... nobody mentioned nicads?

I just saw the word nickel in his post and ASSumed (you know what they say) he was running Nicad. Sorry guys.

Maybe I have had bad Nicad's in the past, but my Nimh batteries have always felt stronger (and of course lasted longer).

Im running a futaba esc MC330CR.

hi smegs, maybe you can give more info so we could assist you a little better, what type of batteries are you runnning and how old are they, how old is the motor you have fitted in the srb, your esc is fine, ive had a few of the mc330cr esc's and they worked great, im not quiet sure how much faster you want it to go, a tamiya sport tuned may just fit straight in and being 23t it should feel much better, also what gearing set have you got fitted in your srb.

Did you properly break in the silver can? As with any brushed motor they need to be broken in.

I changed the gearing now it goes faster. But I didnt break in the stock motor. any suggestions. The battery are new I made a new hump pack. Is this motor worth getting RS540 Sport Tuned.

I ended up putting a Hobbywing Ezerun 13T brushless setup in mine with a nice little 2200mah Lipo. At first it had so much power it was undriveable but after changing the speed control setting, backing off the punch and timing it is now much easier to get the power down and still very fast.

Finally went Lipo man what a difference.

Recently did the same, awesome huh? The other day I stuck those lipo's in every RC I had/could, Now I have to buy some sub-6 size Lipo packs for the rest of my fleet :)
