My collection really is an R/C stew. But what really interests me are buggies, buggies and more buggies.

I also like anything that has a Hard shell on it.

I am into offroad, I am focusing on Frog's(10), Blackfoot's(2), Grasshoppers(4), and Pumpkin/Lunchbox's(3). Reason is parts are interchangeable and plentiful as well as a ton of mods. I do have some others but will probably be selling as I cam trying to keep my garage down. Anyone interested in a very nice boxed RTR Sonic Fighter?

Also, I have a Tamiya Falcon and a Bandai Madwolf on Ebay right now.

Right now I only collect 959's and Fox's. My childhood dream car (the 959) and my favorite R/C I had growing up (The Fox).

I might add Tomohawk's to that in the near future. Having only 2 cars to collect for makes it easier to have lots of stuff for them. [;)]

I used to have tons of stuff for them, but just like a lot of R/C collectors, we go through phases and I sold off a lot of it about 5-6 years ago and packed away what I had left.

I got it all out the other night to see what I had left. I seem to have sold off more than I remember. I'm down to only one NIB of each. [:(]

Old topic! lets bring it back to life lol

For myself, wanted all the "blackfoot bro's" , ranging from the

blackfoot 58058 to the latest blackfoot Xtreme.

The only problem i encountered... Got them all now. (yes)

So, i started to complete the collection of 1/14 trucks, defenetly my all time favorit tamiya models. Nearly there, only the knight hauler is not here yet.

special models, like the robbe 6x6, a hovercraft, mpx amphi, stuff like that [:P]

"everything i like the looks of" (excuse to buy another car that does not fit other discriptions found in this posting)

Recently encountered a real problem, 1/16 TANKS! Saw them at a show, 3 days later traded one with renken2000, now all badword breaks out, i want a "modern" one, i wonder where that collection is in a year or so :) Well, the only real problem i have with my new intrest is the

price of them [8)]

For a while I was lusting for a tank. I finally saved up enough money for my full option Pershing. after it was all said and done, I wasn't that satisfied. If I had to do it over again, I would have spent the money on another 1/14 scale semi with an MFC unit.

My intent is to try and collect a number of cars that are from the first 100-150 releases - cars that are visually appealing and truer to scale, that have some collectibility (in or near the first 100 releases, hard shell, popular or unpopular as the case may be), and that are somewhat economical. in essence, I'd like to have a car from almost every "decade" of releases, if you know what I mean.

If you look at what I have : I have two Falcons (58056) which were popular buggies, two project Strikers (58061) which are very UNpopular cars but are very strange hardshells (therefore I acquired them). Then, a Stadium Blitzer on the way (58106) which is one of Tamiyas longest runs, a Chevy S-10 (58146) a great "scale looking" truck, and then the only road car I have - the Impreza WRC 2003(58305). I probably won't venture past release 58146 for a while, as I'd like to get some cars from the 58030's or 40's release era, if not earlier.

I've been trying to locate good deals for cars in the top 50 releases, but have yet to attain any. (Darn those snipers!) Therefore I turned to the Stadium Blitzer with the intent of getting a Beetle shell for it and making it a quasi Blitzer Beetle.

Cars I'd love to get - the Brat (was my first and only when I was a kid), Lancia Rally, Rough Rider, Sand Scorcher, Super Champ, Fast Attack Vehicle, and maybe one of the early trucks like the F150 Ranger. Of course, I've just named some of the most collectible cars out there, so I'll have to be saving my pennies I guess...

My collection has no rhyme or reason, I just buy what appears that appeals to me that I can afford. I do have a softspot for odd designs and classic tourers though.

My Tamiya collection revolves around the 1970's and 1980's. Now I have added 3 cars from the 2000's so who knows whats next? I also really like cox cars from the 40's,50's and 60's(thimbledrome)and AMT,MPC,and Revell 1/25th scale car models form the 50's and 60's. 1/18th scale die cast muscle cars and corvettes-all years, and slot cars in 1/24th and 1/25th scale from the 60's and 70's. A bit of a retro grouch? lololol. I was born in 1949, that may help explaining it?

is 3 cars a collection?[:P][:D]

I buy tamiya cars because I like them (body, chassis or both)

I also collect vintage citroën models(from dinky and corgi toys to matchbox, norev and even majorette) I have like 120 vintage citroën models now[:)]

and I collect everything that is michelin, especially the vintage tourist guides and road maps...my oldest tourist guide is from 1939 and my oldest map is from somewhere in the early 30's [:)]

I like the idea that people want to collect, but I wonder what effect this has on availability as a whole? For example the three speeds are hard to find and / or expensive perhaps because people collect them? Like fine art I suppose!

I like anything that rekindles my childhood days (still living in them, so my girlfriend says :) )

For me, the Blackfoot is the ultimate because I grew up with it. The Monster Beetle, Frog, Hornet, Pumpkin and Lunchbox are also up there. It's strange, I'm in the process of builing a Scorcher but for some reason, it doesn't excite me nearly as much as the ones I grew up with. The SS is a wonderful car but since I "missed" it in my early days, it doesn't seem as significant.

The Hilux is also a good one, because I remember my uncle playing with his and I thought it was so cool to shift the truck from the radio. I collect anything that sparks my interest. Buggies, trucks, and some touring cars. I'm not big on F1 or racing style cars, but some of them are very cool. I'm particular to Kyosho too, their early buggies are so scale and realistic, it feels like you can hop in and drive away! T

Right now I really, really want to add a Lunchbox and a Hilux to my collection, but don't we all?

I'd almost rather have a car that's been well used instead of something NIB. I really enjoy running and restoring them, and chasing down parts is frustrating at times but that's fun as well. I like a car that's a bit used, it gives it character and you don't feel so bad when you scratch it or blast it through that big pile of mud and rocks! ;) I also enjoy Tamiya kit-bashing and hybrid projects- I like the idea of having a car unlike anyone else's. My TLT/Blackfoot/XC thing is a good example of something like that.

There are cars I'd like to own but realistically never will for cost/space/practicality reasons (Hilux, Rough Rider, Sand Rover, Mounty etc)

I only really wanted one car for display, a 97' Subaru. After I started running it, I wanted to get a second bodyshell for display. And then I saw a box art one I had to have. I might get one or two more Scooby 97 shells painted differently, and I may get other chassis purely to display the bodies, if I see some good deals.

I am collecting some hop ups for my TA03, and if I see a TRF or Jun TA03 for a reasonable price I may go for it.

The other car I always liked was the Peugeot 306, so I got one of those for display, and then I bought a Twin Detonator for offroad fun.

I'm not really into buggies, although my first car was a Hornet, I don't really feel the need to get a replacement Hornet or any other buggy, nice though some are.

And that's it - I won't get any more kits, just a few hopups along the way.

I only have a small collection of cars compared to many TC members, but tend to like the more scale / detail looking kits, and have a preference for distinctive classic cars more than ultra modern saloons. Having said that I do have a 2001 WRC Scooby and a Lancer Evo VI.

Buggies don't really do it for me, with perhaps the exception of the very early scale looking buggies like the FAV and the Wild One - probably the only two I would go out of my way to get if money was not an issue.

Love the Scorchers and some of the scale looking 3 speeders, but can't justify that kind of outlay for a runner as spares would be prohibitive. I am someone who likes run their cars rather than look at them, and am not adverse to the odd bit of customisation if it adds to the realism (e.g. lighting).

As I tend to use mine as runners I am also a bit of a spares hoarder too for the cars I have. Favorite onroad car is probably the Alfa Guilia GTA - I have two of these plus a spare body, although one of them will be used for a RWD rally project chassis.

Favourite off roader is the Hummer. I have two of these plus two full sets of spares bodies with ancillaries - just love the detail on the shells and the scale looks.

Always interested in something different (although still scale), so also have things like the Kyosho Blizzard (a pistebasher) in my collection too.

I tend to collect cars I have had in real life or would like to have too. Hoping those Mk1 Golf shells Dazmeister has in his showroom will be available soon [;)]

I 'm a big fan of the Frog I had one a long long time ago as my first RC and I had tons of fun with it... I am currently working to restore my first RC any input or suggestions from you guys would be of great value..........

I collect cars and spares mainly on these categories...

1. Firstly, the buggy I had when I was in my teens - the Frog.

2. The buggies my friends had - The Hornet, Falcon and Fox.

3. The Super Shot, because it looks so **** cool and was the 'ultimate' (expensive!) buggy in the Tamiya range at the time.

4. A few touring cars and body shells that I like the look of.

5. Cars that have really cool scale technology. Eg, Dyna Storm. Obviously, I would like to track down a 3-speed (Bruiser) and a 959 in this category one day. Plus an Egress, Avante or Top Force Evo would be nice.

Plus, for some reason I seem to collect the NIB front stabilizer kits for the Fox, it's just such a cool option and not too expensive.

No Penfold, if I bought ALL the Schumachers that appeared on eBay, that would be an obsession.... and I would be broke! No, not quite at obsession stage yet. Quite a bit of room to move... ahhh, what's this I see on eBay? Cougar2? Back soon...
