Shodog 1834 Posted September 11, 2002 The radio box is different where the wires exit. the battery tray and the wheels are also different. The Mountaineer is far better chassis than the bruiser chassis. I have no credible evidence to back that assertion up. I have a Mounty and I just wanted to say it. DJTheo 2 Posted September 12, 2002 Yes like a Ford Cortina is better than Ford Taunus and a Opel is better than Vauxhall http://www.vintagetamiyarc.com/

DJTheo 2 Posted September 12, 2002 Here is a 70s Taunus http://www.motorcities.com/contents/00B9J361626192.html here a Cortina http://www.motorcities.com/contents/01EDA500530240.html The difference? Just the name for different countries http://www.vintagetamiyarc.com/
stulec52 48 Posted September 12, 2002 the trusty old Cortina... ah that takes me back.. And Theo you are so right about the Opel vs Vauxhall.. I had a 1978 Ascona, and at the time it was 15 years old and looked about 5 years old, whereas Cavaliers of a similar vintage had holes in the wings, and generally looked like they'd seen better days. id='Verdana'> Stu in Scotland
retro 0 Posted September 13, 2002 Hehe, the 'Coke Bottle' Cortina. I remember it. That 70's Taunus is a coupe though. I've never seen one before, maybe we didn't get Cortina Coupes over here. Gary.
PandaBear 1 Posted October 2, 2002 The waisted Cortina is a "TC" model... then there's the big square "TE" one that came after (as seen in James Bond). Driven both before, handling on neither is not impressive. (Its a wonder that its predecessor could have been the 4cyl Lotus Cortina.)
DJTheo 2 Posted October 2, 2002 Your statement about its handling was rather moderate http://www.vintagetamiyarc.com/
PandaBear 1 Posted October 2, 2002 quote:Your statement about its handling was rather moderate LOL id=quote>id=quote>Heh heh heh... but I have driven worse. One that springs to mind is the Holden Torana Sunbird (Oz local, by GM). On this one, Holden advertises it as having "suspension tuning"... just by ADDING RADIAL TYRES??!? The famous "RTS" (Radial Tuned Suspension) handling option, oh boy.
