well after ordering 2 differnet types of cvds for my hotshots none actually worked right

i thought the orig pair were 70mm so i ordered another set that were 68 mm which i thought would

fix the binding problem

the first set were abit hard to modify so i tried them in the rear end and worked ok after removing the small tiny rubber disc they recomend fititng in the rerelease

that gave me 1 or 2mm play when axle was horizontal so its ok and they dont bind

for the front end well without modding they bind just before horizontal

the 2nd set of cvds were dfo3 i think and where the middle axle sits in the outer cup it has a pin which allows it to swivel

well in this set i pulled it apart and without the pin i could push the axle about 2mm further into the cup

well i tested this and figured it would not bind

so today at work i stripped 2 axles down and got some 1.5mm drill bits and redrill new holes for the pin in the cup 90 degrees offset to the orig holes

and about 2mm deeper into the cup

well i had to grind abit here and there but eventually got them working and free

got home this arvo and fitted em up and all is good

now ust have to road test em but now i hope no more loosing front axles

my orig hotshot has cvds front n rear

my rere has cvds in rear and just need to mod 2 cvds to fit the front of the rere

prob takes bout 10 to 15 mins per axle if u take yr time and with correct tools
