Drevlin 0 Posted October 19, 2010 The Steering servo on my king cab is getting really weak. I was wondering what a good replacement for it would be. I am uncertain on what to be looking for. Thanks
Shanks 5 Posted October 19, 2010 Any bog standard size servo will fit, search for any of these on Ebay :- Acoms, Futaba, Sanwa to name a few most only cost a few quid you only start spending more if you want more torque or if the servo is digital.
Drevlin 0 Posted October 19, 2010 Sense I have never bought nor looked at servos before I thought I would check. Is this a decent servo to go with? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti00...LXUZ89&P=ML thanks
T. Smith 0 Posted October 19, 2010 Sense I have never bought nor looked at servos before I thought I would check. Is this a decent servo to go with? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti00...LXUZ89&P=ML thanks That servo should be more than enough for a King Cab based model. I have that servo in my Juggernaut and it works perfectly well, even though that truck weighs three times more than a King cab and has front and rear steering. Some might even say that the 645 is over kill for a King Cab, as that truck has a light steering set up taken from the Avante/Egress cars. But if you intend to do a lot of jumping, the 645, with it's metal gears, will withstand the impacts, even with a standard Tamiya servo saver. To be honest, I can see the servo out living the truck. Drevlin 0 Posted October 19, 2010 I guess I will go with this one http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti00...=LXH318&P=0 I have just realized that I had Marine Gooped http://www.buy.com/prod/marine-goop/q/sell.../208055006.html the servo to the chassis last year to keep it in place. I have the metal chassis on the cab, it was the only way to keep it in place after landing jumps. but thanks for the help
