My Fox

Recommended Posts

My fox is still so good to drive in vintage.

This pic was at this yr vintage meet at Castle hill ( Sydney)

Shortly after this the rear axles stripped out. Might have a new dog bone arrangement for it shortly. Funny this is my least modded Tamiya. Has a Longer servo saver to achieve better lock. Different shock pistons. 2.2 wheels.

Starting a Full rebuild soon for next yrs Vintage meet.

The rain came so we kept running. The full speed shot up the straight looks great i think. The Fox can still move well with just a silver 540.

Always wanted a FOX when i was younger but it was so expensive. I have this runner and one shelf queen with a new Dynatech 01R motor. I have very few shelf queens 5 i think the rest are all good looking runners that get a workout every Fortnight at Boondal.

Enjoy the pics.

Awesome. Foxes are way underrated. I've seen a few hang with the RC10s back in the day.

Hi mate, this is my first time on this site, and i went into vintage discussions and found your comment about your Tamiya Fox. Awesome picture of the Fox there just a great Rc Car, i also own one myself. Ive noticed when i read your comment about that you race it a vintage event and that it was held at Castle Hill, im from Sydney Australia as well and i would like to attend the next Vintage event so i can bring along my Tamiya Fox & Thundershot. Would you be able to inform me on when the next Vintage event will be on so i race my cars there.

Also, do i need to become a member with the Vintage event if so please let me know and ill inform my brother & friends about the Vintage event and we all can become members. Hope to here from U..cya!! :)

Hi MR HOBBIE.

You are so lucky you live close to castle hill. I travell 1200km to go to that event.

Its on once a yr but they do hold vintage 4 hr enduro,s too.

You need to log on to Rc Tech. Net , scroll down to international forums, Click on to Australian Racing. Scroll to you see vintage racing at Castle Hill. All the info is there and great pics too.

I meet up at Vintage@Boondal up here in Brisbane every fortnight. I do track testing to get a good base set up for castle hill. ( as best as i can different track)

Just for you more pics from that run has been added.

Hi MAD RACER, thx for the assisstence. Just letting you know that ive became a member with RC TECH Castle Hill Off RD Club. Cheers!! ;)

Also, u mention tht ur from Qld, u must be really keen and into ur Hobbies if u travel all tht distance 1200K/m to Castle Hill. Its good to see tht their are people still out there tht are still into their Hobbies like urself. Most of my mates have lost interset because they can not find parts for their R/c Cars. I was in the same situation as them, i didnt use my thundershot for 15+yrs until 5yrs ago when i found some parts on eBay. I personaly think tht thts a big problem with Tamiya, once they discontinue a product they also discontinue parts supplies for tht product as well. Which they should at least continue with parts so it saves us the hassle in searching for them in the long run. Even if u do find parts, they cost an arm and a leg to buy. Im off chat soon..

Awesome. Foxes are way underrated. I've seen a few hang with the RC10s back in the day.

A re release Fox would be wonderful please Mr Tamiya. With 2011 being the 25th anniversary of the 1986 Fox release next year would be ideal. A 2012 re release of the Superchamp's on the 30th anniversary of the original 1982 release would also be fab. Surely a re release of a Sand rover on the DT 02 chassis is not too far away either?

The photos of your Fox are foxxy Mark!

I'm sure they are drilling the holes in the bonnet as we speak! ;)

;)

Well, they could re-release it on the Fox chassis too if they would re-release the Fox first... It would at least avoid the holes in the bonnet - And then attempt to forget about the width/stance and the wheels though :P

Anyway, that's a great looking Fox! Since I first saw it, I liked the looks of it (although I wouldn't go with a box art if I had one to build), and the price plus the fact I already drive a Dyna Storm (which is to me still the best looking 2WD buggy ever made, and drives well too) stopped me from buying one - A re-re would mean though that I'll definetely get one sooner or later! :P

Hi guys,

Will post up the dates and inform all as soon as I get confirmation from our national governing body and the clubs here in NSW Australia.

I will post the info up here and in the events thread as well.

Those pics look familiar Mark!! B) Think I saw them in a mag somewhere too!

Love the Fox myself, if I get the time - I will run one this year as well.

Cheers

Darryn
