What parts have you custom built for your Scorcher? I have made a rear cage, side protectors, exhaust tip and roll bar. I want to make a carbon fibre chassis but i don't know where to get any carbon fibre! Basicaly i want to make (or buy) loads of custom parts for mine as i want one shelf queen one runner and one modified. Nearly got a new built scorcher now, got the runner but a lack of modified parts.

Some pics please ...

As far as carbon fiber is concerned, if you take just the fiber you will have to make the aluminium mould and "cook" the coumpound. Trust me this is tricky... On the other hand if you select a "ready made" plate, you will have to make a clean-cut, which is also a bit of a pain.

I personnaly had access to this material through a friend who was working for Airbus. Only addresse I have is http://www.topmodel.fr/ (they have an english version for their site).

Frankly I would rather rely on a cnc machinated plate of ergal or aluminium, would be more "collector-compliant", and offer a better design * quality * efficiency / price ration :)

when I was making my Rough rider runner I ran into this same problem with the chassis plate. The stock one flexes too much which ends up cracking the radio box. I bought a plate of Carbon fiber off of ebay to make a chassis but found that the carbon fiber, while stiffer, still flexed too much. I ended up finding a new old stock RCH aluminum chassis. This chassis is thick and won't flex.

There was a company in the UK called Fyberlyte who specialised in making carbon fibre hop ups for rc cars. I am sure they could copy/improve on the original design as they make one offs. I think that they are still going as they advertise in the UK mags from time to time.

Bit of a double post, but just got me aRR from ebay and it's kinda unique!

It's got some weird mods on it - there's jacks and sockets everywhere and the drivers head is the on/off switch - cool or what!

Haven't work out the wiring yet, but it appears that you have to connect a couple of the jacks together to complete the circuit - there's only 1 wire not soldered to anything in the radio tray.

There is also a weird screw on the gearbox - dunno what that does YET.

Oh - it's all blue too!
