[bTW, it it me or all, or most, of those original Avantes on ebay are being ignored. It seems no one wants to buy them, even the near mint conditions ones. Can't blame them, the 2011 is nicer.

Thoughts?

I tried to find the email I recieved from the seller saying that he would sell me an undamaged kit for extra $$ but it was in my "Junk" box (where it belonged ) and has since been deleted.

Yes I pointed that out to the wifey last night crazy really ,I saw one sitting on ebay for $71 a few bidders and a day to go usually it would be silly money, now nobody is touching them with a barge pole, spend a few hundred more and get a nib .

I Too have a dilemma on this do I buy the 2000 Avante which I also wanted back in the late 80’s but got the Terra Scorcher as I couldn’t afford the Avante or do I find a Nissan King Cab that I also wanted around the same time….

Would like to see how this would go against my Durga with similar motors etc.

I also wanted an Avante as a boy and got the Terra scorcher but could not afford it (which was no bad thing as the terra scorcher was a pretty good little club racer), I also wanted the king cab but could not justify spending £125 on one so i bought the Mudblaster instead for £77.

Ebay price for them seems to be around £284 (captain hobby and rcsausage dog on ebay) plus around £37 shipping (£321 shipped), if your lucky thats what you will pay, if not expect £77 in charges (Total £398).

Uk prices are £449 (plus shipping) it seems, so still savings to be made in the order of £53+shipping cost if you can wait for a week.

Stella will post to Australia? ( Iknow silly question sorry)

Yes they do. My orders have arrived in the 2-3 days with EMS postage option.

Avante 2011 As of 28th Jan 2011

RC mart USD$359.90 + postage

Stellamodels USD$400 + postage

jr-rc (with T-shirt) USD$490 +postage

I think RC mart seems tempting, not too worried about the T-shirt

As someone else on here said, the T shirt is only likely to be used in the dogs bed or as a cleaning rag as th max size is japanese large (which is about the same as a euro small/medium LMAO), so unless your a tiny fella you aint gonna be wearing it (maybe if ya missus dont object she could wear it to bed LMAO).

RC Mart at £230 seems pretty good to me (almost half UK cost, typical rip off britain!!!!).

How unusual JR_RC is the most expensive :)

If it's the same size as the Sand Scorcher T-shirt it will fit fine for most people unless you are truly "big"

It is a really nice car to build.

If you built the original it's almost identitcal (atleast from the pictures). I can probably build it without opening the manual :)

I have the sand scorcher T shirt (in large) and it was immediately handed to my mate who is a UK "Medium" and it fitted him just fine, im 6'3" and 90kg and it was nowhere near a UK large let alone a UK XL (which i wear comfortably).
