Been almost 1.5 weeks since I last noticed jr-rc release the first lot of Avante 2011 parts ie. A parts and B parts, been nothing since then....Still getting gulped by those re-sellers I assume.

Posted
Yup, I belive JR listed another batch of 50 at 8am this morning and looks like modelbuild got most of them

And I hope JR gets 50 more, and 50 more, and 50 more until MB runs out of money.

Its a little frustrating when someone buys ALL the spare A parts - would be nice if they left a few. I assume they are in it for a profit which is fair enougth but geez leave some for others. Agreed hope the whoever is buying them in bulk gets sick of it as I dont want there to be no a-parts and then we have to pay a jacked up price.

I think thats the idea in whats happening.

JR will be splitting plenty, its just a matter of time. Also im sure Tamiya will be releasing them as spares soon enough so there will be plenty around.

**Update** I have pre-ordered spares from one of my suppliers so as soon as they are released I will get them up on the website.

Cheers

My avante's are now awaying Customs clearance... :0

Really hope I don't get hit with the import tax!

But even if I do it will still be around £90 cheaper then getting one from the UK!

good greif..................... ;)

ah well i have at least worked out why Ebay have the "enter description" box when you use the "save seller" function.....my description boxes for the two "re-sellers" would make a sailor blush :P

doesnt bode well for a UK Tamiya-holic does it? have fun building and running your Avante...but break anything and its time to break out the AW grease and adopt the bent over position.....

;) Nearly fell of me chair when i read that, quality!.

I know what you mean. The save seller search does not work tho as it only send you updates once per day, it seems "certain People" sit there refreshing JR's shop with the search words "Avante" with perameters of "Newly listed" as they listed some at 8am and sold at 8.06am, now thats commitment! (or sad, however you look at it).

If only i was quick enough (and up early enough) LMAO

hehe i do jest, but i guess it comes down to a could/should situation.

i COULD sit and refresh listings and buy up all the good bits....but SHOULD i? i dont think so

i was under the impression that this hobby was generally expensive,i appreciate that some things cost more than others (rare/exclusive/expensive when new) but to purposefully hog stock to to inflate prices? its a hobby not a multinational hostile takeover bid!

ah well...rant over...world is a better place..etc..etc ;)

Arrgh! :P I'm still waiting for mine to arrive.

edit:

Just checked the tracking and it's been updated.... It's now due to be checked by Customs aswell. My fingers are now firmly crossed in the hope that they won't charge me anything. ;):)

Ok Guys.

Who has the cheapest Avante Kits.

I want one but can't find any for around $450.

This is or will be the most expensive kit i will buy. They aren't cheap at all.

Time i pay for postage it will be over $500.

Do you think they will drop soon??????????

Did you try Stella $400 USD + postage (not sure how much), or RCMushroom $389 USD + Postage (Also not sure how much)?

**EDIT** RCMushroom shipping to Australia is $54 EMS or $40 airmail, having said that, my Frog was not packed well via EMS and the box got a bit squashed on one corner

I recommend Stella their packing is the best I've seen, I put pics up a page or two back, whole expeirence was positive

Mine aswell. Been like that for nearly two days too, what are they playing at down there? Could this be the 1st one out of 10 kits from Stella where that horrible Mr VAT takes his slice of the pie? Hope not.

I hope not too... I really hate this waiting...

AAARRRrrgggh! I've really got to stop this negative speculating. My blood pressure has probably shot through the roof and, what with Royal Mail now charging our 20% VAT on everything they do, I'm sure that I'll suffer a heart attack AND a cerebral edema at the same time should they hit me with charges. Man, I've seriously got to stop thinking about what Customs might do.:(

I just checked my ones also, and as you guys it's still at Customs...

I'm not toooo worried about the Customs charges if I get them as it's still a lot cheaper than the UK

I would just like it to start moving again... dam Customs...

Customs are being very slow (Methodical?) at the moment, i waited 3 days for my own items to come out of Customs.

VAT is not charged on every service, you just need to think which services to use before applying labels lol, VAT is only added to "Airsure in EU" and special delivery packages in UK.

Anything sent "INternational signed for" (Registsred mail) is not VAT chargeable and nor are Airsure items sent outside EU.

Its no major problem currently.

Are you sure about that? Although I have been incredibly lucky with Stella so far (9 out of 9 no duty) when I first bought a vintage Hotshot & Bigwig NIB through Yahoo Japan I felt the full force of the UK tax man, and those kits were sent via EMS, the same service used by Stella.

Oops think we have our wires crossed here, if you read post above i was referring to Royal Mail charging VAt on its OWN products.

I.E if you send an Airsure item to EU, it would have cost £6.95 for a small item, now it will cost £8.35 due to VAt being charged.

I was not referring to items coming IN to the UK.

Cheers
