Hi all, I'm new to the site. I found the site while looking on the net for parts and info on the Tamiya Juggernaut

Anyway enough about be, here my little project.

I bought this from a local auction, at the time I had no idea if it worked or not but thourght I'd have a go at winning it.

I won it for the grand total of £2 (That isn't a miss print)

These are pics of how I got it,

Now my plan is to get it running and upgrade it abit too. Now since buying it I have removed the MSC and throttle servo, and I'm fitting a ESC.

The first problem I has was this, I wanted to mount the ESC in the same area that the MSC was mounted, but this wasn't really possible as there wasn't a flat area big enough to do this without modifing the orgional Juggernaut part which I didn't want to do, this is the area I'm talking about.

So what I've done is made a replacement section out of a small piece of carbon fibre that I had in the shed.

I've done it like this so I can easly return it to standard if required.

I'll update with progress as it happens

All coments welcome

I'm running twin LRP 19x2 motors in my TXT-1 through a no-limit Mtroniks Tio Storm ESC..........

Goes like stink!

But the Jugg is a bit less robust than the TXT-1 so those motors may kill the Jugg.

Yeah.......

The good ol' Sport Tuned are a reasonable upgrade on the bog standard silver cans and are roughly around 23 turns depending on what version you manage to get your hands on.

Now I've got home and had a look at the pics properly (was looking earlier on my iPhone so I couldn't see the pics properly) I've noticed that what you have there is a Juggernaut 2 rather than the bog standard version that was notoriously weak in its drive train. You should therefore be able to run a bit more power through your Jugg. Try a pair of the sport tuned motors (I have one in my restored Monster Beetle and its a good bit of fun) but you may find you want to play around a bit more with them after having some running. I ahd it pointed out with my TXT-1 restoration that you can either go powerfully and have some fun sand blasting with the TXT-1 or go the other way and stick a pair of high turn, high torque motors in there to do some serious crawling.........apparently the Jugg/TXT-1 drive system is pretty good at crawling if you lock up the diffs. I live near to the coast of Norfolk so I fancied some sand blasting with mine giving it some poke.

As for your ESC you could always place it where the 4 AA battery pack is currently mounted? You won't need the battery any longer if you go with an ESC.

Fusion Hobbies are a good bunch so you shouldn't have any problems with them, but have a hunt (probably eBay) for them a bit cheaper.

What ESC are you thinking of going for?

Hmmm...........

That listing is a bit vague isn't it? No mention as to what motor limit you can get away with on it. Probably best then to stick with the relatively mild mannered Sport Tuned motors in it for the time being

As I said I know it isn't the best, but I'll stick with it for now and use 2 of the tamiya sport tuned motors. I can upgrade to better equipment at a later date when fund allow

Update,

I had the idea of removing the stickers and replace them with new ones as they were starting to look abit gruby, but as I removed them it took the paint off too :P. Anyway I then decided to get the whole shell resprayed, the colour wont be to everyone's taste but I like it.

The ESC also turned up and I fitted it and tidied up the wiring abit, all the connections have been soldered properly and not bodged

I also managed to get a small vid of it running

Is that a modded Tigra in the video? (I can't see it properly as I'm on my iPhone)

i just watched the video there, the Jugg is cool.

the Tigra is well-finished too, she's obviously got good taste. Got any pics (of the car! :D )?

Can anyone reccomend some cheap upgrades/hop-ups that I can do on the jugg?

Also does anyone know where I can get some red highlift shock from?

I got my hi-lift shocks from jr-rc on ebay. Two packets of metal parts bag 'E' for the hi-lift. This has all the washers, o rings, and mounting hardware required to fit them. Another cheap upgrade would be a ballrace kit.
