Blackfoot Extreme Shocks

Hi all, very new here, just got into the r/c thing with my son, we have a tamiya blackfoot extreme which runs very well but being an engineer I know that the stock shocks on it will eventually break the chassis due to the bottoming out. I would like to know what upgrade ones are available and where in the UK I can get them?? Thanks in advance

You can use the Tamiya suggested CVA shocks but I think those don't allow for enough suspension travel. I added some new shock towers and some traxxas shocks. Much better. My showroom lists all the parts I used.

Can I assume from your pics that the shock towers are effectively the carbon plate that appears to be screwed to the chassis??? It's just all the terminology thats new to me!!

Yes, the shock towers are carbon fiber and are screwed to the chassis using the original shock mount holes.

You'll be surprised how much better it runs on oil shocks :-)

I have a Wild Dagger, which is a 4WD of the BFE chassis, and I have maintained the suspension travel (org length shocks) to avoid dog bone (drive shaft) problems.
